An older lady I volunteer with is ELCA, conservative in many ways, but she’s approving of another female coworker who is marrying a woman. She’s also shocked that I’m not approving of female pastors.

I remember the kind and gentle American Lutheran Church that I grew up in.
It joined the new ELCA and I was astounded that a family in the church denounced the ELCA and left the church.
Now, I understand what they were warning us all about. Then, I 2005 or so, I sat in church and listened to one of our delegates to the convention waxing eloquently about the enlightened church position on homosexuality, and I got up, took my young son by the hand and walked out. God led us that morning to a LCMS church in a nearby town and I haven’t crossed the threshold of the ELCA since.
It is obvious that the ELCA is no longer a religion, but rather a perverted cult.
Is it just me or do you also find it interesting that the first three letters of LGBTQ+ are Let’s Go Brandon.

Me too, I left the Lutheran church over 45 years ago due to the progressive shift. From a family of 3 Lutheran pastors, including one that
was a ‘circuit pastor’ on the Great Plains that came over from Norway in the mid 1880s.
Sad what the ELCA has become.
It happens to EVERY church. Satan will never leave one alone.
Church buildings and denominations come and go but the true body of Christ will never fail.
Went from Lutheran to Presbyterian. Left that church (PCUSA) about 8 years ago due their stated progressive position. Our conservative church couldn’t abandon without ‘buying’ the physical building and property WE PAID for. So adios. Now go to an extremely small bible based church (generally about 20 adults and 12 kids every Sunday).
The “It’s all about me” church
There are several good, solid theological reasons to oppose female pastors. I do not disparage those reasons.
However, I have also observed a most persuasive practical reason to oppose female pastors: The females who most loudly clamor for the approval of female pastors are manifestly unfit for ministry.
