Where eete tbe parents during all of this?
Did they think their child was spending that much time with the pastor “just praying together”?
Substitute “preying” for that other action verb.
Or, did the parents find that relationship to be something tolerable and even lucrative?

Does it matter? The innocence lost is the same regardless of the gender of the victim (or the perpetrator for that matter). Sexual predators should not be priests, no matter who their victims are.

Over 50 years ago when I was in high school, the woman I should have married (long story) invited me to the youth group meetings at her church, close to our family's apartment, and I attended them for a while. The pastor was young, good looking, knew his Bible, and everyone thought well of him. It was only a few years ago that it was discovered that, soon after this, he had kidnapped and murdered a child walking to the church, and he admitted it when he was in his eighties in GA. The church, which wasn't a megachurch to begin with, shut down last year, it couldn't handle the bad publicity.
