Both the Annual Southern Baptist Convention and the Presbyterian Church in America General Assembly occurred this week, but the two had entirely different outcomes when it came to the matter of female pastors, a pressing issue in both denominations. Whereas the Southern Baptist Convention failed to ban female pastors, the Presbyterian Church in America took an aggressive step to combat women and unordained men from being referred to as pastors, deacons, and elders.

The Assembly voted by voice vote to approve the amendment to 7-3 in the Book of Church Order, the governing constitution of the PCA. This BCO amendment was first approved by the 50th General Assembly and then ratified by at least ⅔ of the presbyteries.
Earlier this year the PCA invited and then disinvited David French to speak at their General Assembly. The winning continues for Presbyterians.

Attention Presbyterians: the Apostle Paul was “ordained” by the scars on his back. Would you accept that?
Oh please... Paul was ordained by Jesus Christ himself. I’ll accept that.
Incorrect.
Acts 9:5-6, 17
Acts 12:2-3
Slight typo correction: Acts 13:2-3
Charles Spurgeon was never ordained. Except by the Holy Spirit.
I’d be fine with the PCA if they weren’t so hung up on sprinkling babies…well, they could modernize the music and try a more recent Bible translation, but I largely align with their theology.
We’re Calvinists. We’re all in on the Apostle Paul, who was ordained by the Lord himself, and lament when the Council of Trent essentially deemed him anathema.
Most PCAs I’ve been to use ESV. Is that too old of a translation?
As for the music, some are more contemporary.
