I was thinking about that as I was reading the article. Makes you wonder why they built that observatory. The Jesuits must be involved. :)
I am quite sure there is a reason why they built the observatory on Mount Graham in AZ rather suddenly and shortly thereafter installed another telescope specifically responsive to infrared radiation. Probably searching for a failed star which never fully ignited.
