Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent,
How Wonderful is Your Most Holy Name!
We Lift Up Your Name and Worship You,
For you Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The Most HIGH!
LORD of HOSTS,
Ancient of Days,
Lion of Judah,
Rock of Ages,
Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent,
You Know the End from the Beginning and the Beginning From The End.
Righteous and True,
Just and Holy,
There is No Shadow of Turning With You,
Even When We Are Unfaithful, You Remain Faithful,
And Your Laws, Precepts, Judgments,
and Promises are PERFECT.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

The Names and Titles of God (The Bread of Life)

John 6:32

32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

King James Version

One of my fondest memories of Jerusalem is that of the colorfully painted pushcarts that were pushed around by a street vendor.. The carts had a charcoal brazier installed in them, a bucket of ice containing cans of soda, and a rack of huge round freshly baked breads. For about $2.00 (probably more now, if those carts still exist), the vendor would slide the "bagel" off the rack, hold it over the flame a bit to heat it up, and hand it over with a can of Coke. The aroma was heavenly, and the taste...oh my goodness. It was the best "bread" I had ever tasted in my life!

It seems that every civilization has some kind of bread. Whether it's the flat bread of the desert nomad, the crusty French Bread in the bicycle basket, the black Pumpernickel of Eastern Europe, or the Tortillas of Latin America, there always seems to be something. Even in the Far East, there are dumplings and pancakes made of some kind of flour. Maybe the flour is made from wheat, but it could just as easily be made from rye, rice, corn, or some other grain. Not only is bread a part of nearly all culture's cuisines, it is often a part of the definition of the culture. Pita, Tortillas, Mu Shi Pancakes, Blintzes, Latkes, Baguettes, Garlic Bread, Bagels, Fry Bread, Rice Cakes, Bulkies, Matzoh, Pretzels, Pumpernickel, Hamburger Buns, and Wonder Bread all conjure up images of the people who bake and eat them.

Bread is called "The Staff of Life", can mean "money" or all kinds of sustenance (Our Daily Bread), and can be part of Politics: "Bread and Roses", "Bread and Peace", and "Let them Eat Cake" are all quotes from History, equating "Bread" with "LIFE".

Imagine my sister's horror when, after two solid years of gastro-intestinal issues, we deduced that she was Gluten-Sensitive. In a family of gourmet chefs, this was a disaster! Slowly but surely, we began to experiment with gluten-free alternatives. Some were OK, and some were just nasty. The gluten-free Pepperoni Pizza at one of our Open-Mike Venues is actually quite decent.

This sensitivity to gluten seems to be a recent phenomenon, and my other sister posed the theory that genetically modified crops might be the reason, or maybe pesticides. That may be, but people who are gluten-sensitive suffer from eating "Non-GMO-Organic-100%-Natural-Whole-Grain-Bread too.

It's a Mystery!

When Jesus called Himself "The Bread From Heaven" and "The Bread of Life", He was describing Himself in a way that the People of Israel could relate. He was the Bread of the Passover, The Manna in the Desert, The Shewbread in The Tabernacle that signified the Presence of God among the Twelve Tribes of Israel, and the DAILY Bread that was necessary for Survival. He is the Food for our bodies, minds and spirits.

When Christians of all denominations observe Communion, it involves Bread. The Communion Service is a reenactment of the Passover, and the Death and Resurrection of Jesus. The Last Supper was a Passover Seder, involving unleavened BREAD.

By Jesus identifying Himself as "The Bread of Life", tells us all that we need HIM to survive, both in this world and the next.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. (Mark 4:22)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen
