A video of a sermon from 2021 has now gone viral showing the pastor of Mineral Park Baptist church near the Hamilton Bradley County line expressing racially divisive comments during his sermon.
Pastor Ronnie James was a featured speaker during The Faith Baptist Camp livestream. The video has now gained over 300 thousand views and local pastors are now calling him out.
"We will never heal from stuff like this from this sin until we name it for what it is," said Pastor Samuel Burleson pastor of Covenant Community.
Burleson says videos like this aren't uncommon to see in the Pentecostal Church circles.
"Usually, they don’t reach a wider audience. Sometimes they are even in private groups, but it’s not something that’s uncommon to me. It’s not been uncommon for my entire life," said Burleson.
In the video, Pastor Jones can be heard saying:
"I get sick and tired of white boys all the time wanting to go to downtown Chattanooga and try and pattern their life and how they are living black boys with their britches hanging off and white boys want their britches hanging off. It makes me sick to pull up to a red light and see a white boy in a lowered car with a trash can muffler on it and they are goose necking and I want to jump out and open the door and say you're not black your white and straighten up I'm just simply saying God made a difference in us."
Dr. J. Anothony Taylor II pastor of Greater Community Church of Chattanooga Church of God in Christ says it's time for pastors to shift away from preaching their own ideas and preach that of God.
"As a pastor, as a preacher, we never have the liberties to preach our own ideologies, to preach our own cultures, or preach on what we think ought to be. We are called to preach the word of God and to preach is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ," said Dr. Taylor.
Pastor Burleson says when he posted the video on Tiktok he didn't expect it to take off like it did. He adds he noticed the algorithm showed the video to more black people than white. He adds he wanted more white people to see the video, so they know it's time to speak up and out about this kind of hate.
"We are the ones that need to wake up. We're the ones that need to open our eyes. We're the ones that need to do the work we don't need to put the emotional baggage on somebody else who's been oppressed for generations," said Burleson.
Local 3 went out to Mineral Park Church to see if Pastor Jones had a comment regarding his statements and initially, we were told to leave the property. Pastor Jones then said he said nothing wrong.
"To me, it seems to miss the entire point of Christianity and that is a God who became human so that that God might transform the entire world not just one individual," said Burleson.
Burleson says the pastor spoke about not being the same race while speaking in a cadence widely known in the black Baptist community.
"That's part of the problem in a way that white culture has taken these things without any proper culture accreditation. This is another way we have stolen from the black culture and that's a part of the history that needs to be corrected," said Burleson.
That "fashion" came from the prisons, only the gays do it however most outside of the Big House don't know this fact.
A Pentecostal Baptist church? That must be a rarity; Baptists have been preaching against pentacostalism for decades and beyond.

Oh yea I’ve heard of it.
While we call out this pastor, let's keep in mind that it's rare to hear this mess from Christians are from the right. The left owns racism. It's one of the main ingredients in their recipe.
Then why is ok for black boys to "culturally appropriate" lowered cars from Hispanics?
Of course, the Hispanics stole it from the white boys who started it in the 30s and 40s with "chopping and channeling" cars.
So, LOTS of "cultural appropriation" going on all around. Maybe everybody should just drop that crap and say "It's cool that you like what we did so much you want to do it, too."
Remember the good old days when Mom taught us "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"?
(”I get sick and tired of white boys all the time wanting to go to downtown Chattanooga and try and pattern their life and how they are living black boys with their britches hanging off and white boys want their britches hanging off. It makes me sick to pull up to a red light and see a white boy in a lowered car with a trash can muffler on it”)
Might be a lesson in there somewhere....
Does that mean Nike should make sneakers for black folks emblazoned with a label reading, "I got these from Whitey."
Or they should preface every sentence they speak in English with, "I am speaking to you now in the White man's language, ...."
Or that every NBA blackboard should be placarded, "Brought to you courtesy of James Naismith, a White man."
Because if it doesn't go both ways equally and without exception, it isn't equality.
And by "they" I mean black people.
Sure do wish this place had a grace period for edits.
How many people actually disagree with the pastor? Deep down in their hearts...
“...you’re not black your white and straighten up I’m just simply saying God made a difference in us.”
God made us different, how? We’re the human race-—redeemed and unredeemed. Period, that’s it! Maybe I’m reading into it wrong but in Galatians 3:28:
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus”.
We’re either one in Christ or against Christ...the Pharisees broke us down into groups to divide us...let’s not repeat that except for “redeemed and unredeemed”.
Thank you!

A bunch of leftist Democrats who think this sermon is not woke
That “fashion” as you called it has been around for more than 20 years now! Kinda old for a fad - I didn’t think they lasted that long. Don’t they realize how stupid they all look? The good news is it sure makes it harder to run from the police.
