lol...
He should be the one who gets the boot.
How were there not 34,000 empty seats after this idiotic stunt?
One of many reasons why I am thankful for the Orthodox Church and the Byzantine Rite Catholic Church I attend sometimes. This guy comes up with offensive nonsense so people can experience the Gospel in a fresh way? I have been going to church nearly every Sunday for over sixty years, and I still learn something new most Sundays, surrounded by icons of the saints, with an ancient liturgy and hymns, the smells of incense, candle wax and old service books, and people conducting themselves appropriately because “Christ is among us.”
That's what happens when we move the focus from the High Priest (Jesus) to the pastor making wild gestures at his sermon
We must all remember that at every Divine Service there is the High Priest and sacrifice - Jesus, the Lamb that was slain. He is present in the Host.
that is false and you can check that your statement is a falsehood.
Firstly - The "Bibles were kept under lock and key" is a complete lie - in some places they were chained to the alter BUT everyone had the right to come up and read it.
The reason was simple - before the printed press, books were expensive. People could and would rob books
So to prevent this and make sure the people of the parish retained access to the 73 books of the Bible, these expensive Bibles were kept available for any common parishioner to walk up to the altar and always have a Bible available to read to his or her heart's content
LMAO
Uhhhh no...
My favorite two books are Luke and Acts.
What’s confusing you is the refusal to cherry pick out the passages to fall in line with the American Church Of Jesus Christ and His Self-Proclaimed Saints and and refusing to exclude the ones that make it tough to look down our noses at people.
And, since you are such a Bible expert, should you have taken any offense I might have created in you and “The Body” straight to a public forum or followed the guidelines for correcting a brother that are found in Matthew? I’m sure you know the address for the passage about confronting your brother.
And make sure you fully forgive me before you take communion again! Paul made in MANDATORY to not take communion until your heart is “RIGHT”. Of course, you already know that requirement from I Corinthians?
Here’s a fascinating challenge for you — identify one thing lovable in the person you don’t like, but have to deal with regularly and tell them “I see God in __________”... Something positive and kind!
You don’t appear to know too much about Jesus’ teachings or the Bible.
The love your neighbor thing and caring about people that are different than you are real things in there too. When was the last time you visited someone in prison or hospice, sir?
Yes. (Though I remember us snacking on a few unconsecrated hosts as altar boys.) Ny favorite masses to serve were the 6AM ones for the nuns, the top prestigious altar boy position. Instead of 4, you served it by yourself, which made it seem much more important. The nuns pampered me because I had an Italian father, and I could pronounce Latin much better than the rest of the Texans, who slaughtered it.
How are you sure they were unconsecrated?
Did you drink the wine also?
Did not drink the wine. My father gave me wine at home and I knew it could be smelled. The priest showed us where the unconsecrated hosts were stored in the sacristy. I think consecrated hosts were kept in the tabernacle but not sure.
I was an altar boy and can't imagine why your priest would even do that! Why was that necessary?
I gave him an opportunity later on and he didn’t take it! LOL
