I’m guessing that he’s responsible for trying to help the members with their spiritual lives. A pastoral position, without being ordained as a pastor.
I’ve never heard that term before.
“17-year-old man” sounds odd.
Blacks church use different titles than white churches.
Similar to superintendent.
I believe “overseer” is an Elder in the church.
Who allows traveling musicians anywhere hear the kids?????? Totally bizarre.
New postcard for Watermelon Head. /spit
Somebody didnt get a background check run on them. Background checks are quite common in churches today because they’re covering their assets.
Several years ago a sizable local church in my area recently had a youth “pastor” who was a young ex-felon. For some odd reason they didn’t perform a background check, he got into some big trouble sexually molesting a mentally challenged teen. The parents of the molested teen are suing the church for big money, and it was been revealed that this worker did not have a background check. The church has filed a demure, and that’s where it’s standing. The youth pastor/ex-felon wasn’t hiding anything he had told the church that he had reformed and he was now a Bible believing Christian saint... but it turned out that he was a predator.
The weird thing is I know people that have worked in that church and they told me that a middle-aged woman was once given a background check so she could teach aerobics and calisthenics to a group of four or five 70-year-olds.. so for some reason the church chose to be inconsistent on their “rules” and it bit them right in the butt. I guess they thought the reformed Jesus Freak from prison was something other than what he turned out to be and the ex-felon is consequently a felon again and serving time.
Beware the traveling religious musician.
This can’t be! Only Catholic clergy abuses children.

Is this a superintendent in a church?
I think so.
In the youtube video where I found this story it was said this man has the title of "overseer", in fact the youtuber kept referring to him as Overseer Ronnie Lee Graham Jr, what does this mean?
Black church? "Bishop". What would probably be plain old pastor in other environments.
