God has prompted me to take this series, and the Gospel, to a wider audience--indeed, to a global audience. So, I am ending this FreeRepublic series and moving to YouTube, effective immediately.
The new series is called
I expect this is the final post of The Bible In Paintings series, the 979th. I am indebted to many people. Most fundamentally, of course, none of this would have been possible without our gracious and benevolent host, Mr. Jim Robinson. Thank you, sir!
Mary-Lou (Left That Other Site) provided excellent technical help and moral support in the early days. Her example, posting complex daily threads year-after-year, inspired me and continues to. Thank you, friend!
There is another, whom I am enjoined from naming, who worked many, many hours behind the scenes, finding me more art just for the joy of it. Although I cannot name her, if you know, you know. She knows she is my eternal sister, and the Spirit and I intend to collaborate on a beyond-beautiful stained glass fenstergarden in her corner of heaven.
I dare not single out the many other cherished individuals, because one can never adequately list everyone who deserves that accolade. But those of you who joined in—you know who you are—we had fun, didn’t we? And we shared so many profound biblical truths—I’ve learned so much! I must say, the most pleasant surprise for me, aside from the lack of theological rancor, has been the warm camaraderie, good humor and biblical earnestness of so many of you who have become a godly community around these Bible stories. I leave behind the Archives for future reference.
Finally, a word about the future. God called me to this endeavor nearly four years ago, but along the way I’ve discovered that He has been preparing me for it all my life; that is, I find that the qualities needed to do this are precisely those He has most instilled in me. And now that His Spirit has taught me how to do this, He wants more: I must head out of Jerusalem to the uttermost parts of the earth. YouTube can do that, so I’ve taught myself how to use video-editing software. But I cannot do both FR and YT, and the fields there are white for harvest. So, please pray that I allow the Holy Spirit to do what He wants.
May God bless you and keep you.
Dan
I have very much enjoyed these posts.
I’m glad you’re expanding and will make sure to watch on YT.
Thank you for doing this.
Thanks, Allegra. Still just feeling my way along, but God knows the route perfectly well.
Jesus and Paul, to take two prominent examples, advanced the Gospel by working within the corrupt institutions of their day. Perhaps so can I.
God Bless you.
And you;
Thank you.
God bless you and thank you for all your effort in doing this. It was amazing.
Thanks very much. A new adventure lies ahead.
A YouTuber!!!!!
Wonderful opportunity for you!
I was, although, looking forward to catching up post campaign season..
I have your entire New Testament series to get into still and your bookmark is still there..
May the YouTube algorithms be ever in your favor for your ministry!
Thanks. I just produce the videos as well as I can. What God does with them is entirely His business. Besides being K of K and L of L, He is also the Algorithm of Algorithms.
God bless you abundantly in your new endeavor. Praying that you bring many, many souls to Christ!
Thanks. That’s the goal, to give God something He can work with.
:)
Just now catching up with this topic.

This simply made me curious about the [Hebrew] date of the very first post. (I never know what I'll find.)

Posted on 6/6/2020, 1:43:28 PM by Hebrews 11:6I am surveying "Bible art" for my own amusement (at the Spirit's prompting) and thought others might enjoy it, too. Various artists' conceptions enrich my own thoughts about biblical incidents. My intent is to proceed methodically left-to right, Genesis to Revelation. Back soon with another.

But none of that is what caught my eye when I first saw the date of 6/6/2020. It was that it was "Blind Day":
בליינד דיי
(= 130, the word for an eye, ayin, the letter that = 70: עין)
There's no English page. It was just something I'd recalled from my many internet travels over time.
That's just the thing with 6/6 in the year 2020, the double-double: 6/6 is the metric equivalent of 20/20.
As the web-translation goes:
Nature of activityThere you go, full circle in living color:The "Thinking in Color" group initiated the idea of Blind Day, and this day is officially marked in Israel every year on June 6, with the intention that on June 6, all citizens of the country can think in color even if they do not see 6/6, in addition to this day, International Vision Day is held on October 11 every year.
Every year, Blind Day follows the slogan: "Close your eyes – and see!" thinking that even when you don't see 6/6, you can think in color.
The Bible In Paintings
20/20, or 6/6... in mathematical terms, both reduce to 1:
Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

May you be much blessed on your new platform.

That’s very lovely, Ezekiel. Thanks for this send-off!
Exactly! Pray for every blessing for you and your work.
All the colors of light as one.
Well okay, it's always something though, because oddly enough, the name of "Blind Day" [בליינד דיי] is actually a transliteration from English.
And yet there's a place of that "Day" spelled as דיי, right in Genesis 1, at the end of the first three days before the Sun was created.
Here is an image of column 1 of a Torah scroll. The paragraph breaks are at the end of each day. They end with ordinal counts save for Day One.
As such, the first paragraph ends on "one" (cardinal), echaD (the letter dalet). The rest are as 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, which all end with the letter yud.
Therefore, it is the first three days ahead of the Sun that spell out "Day" at their end, as the "דיי" of Blind Day, and...
... isn't that a trip just on that point alone, considering all of the ancient commentary and mystery about what was that first light, variously known as the Ohr Mashiach, Ohr HaGanuz, Ohr Rishon (Messianic Light, Hidden Light, First Light).
The last paragraph break is for the 5th day. 5 (masc.), 5th, 50... are the word-numbers that contain the letters for "Messiah" within, may he come speedily in our days.
Amen!
You’ve done amazing work
