🙂 Well, I didn't leave it out: the person who wrote the mediation just left it out of the snippet at the beginning of the meditation that is provided as just a springboard for the entire reading, which can be found on the provided link right above the meditation.

If you will pardon a Lutheran reference, at Historic Trinity Lutheran Church in Detroit there is a chancel artwork with prophets portrayed in one set, and apostles in another set below. The prophets have bare feet, because like Moses the place they stand on is holy ground. The apostles have sandals, because Jesus commanded this in Mark 6:9. An interesting distinction, I think.
