I don’t understand how the apostolic successor to the Apostle Peter and Vicar of Christ be morally wrong, especially when he can speak infallably ex cathedra and is choosen by the College of Cardinals through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Certainly makes one wonder how much the magisterium and traditions can be trusted?

I don’t believe any of Francis’ “unorthodox” positions have been declared “De Fide”. And as a practicing Catholic I feel no compunction to believe them. In fact, I have every good and holy reason not to.

But someone who is not a Catholic, and further, has an anti’Catholic bias, might imagine an internal conflict where none exists.

A big problem, yes, But the Shepherd’s sheep know his voice, and follow it. The remnant will obey, and pray for the restoration of Christ’s Holy Church. We know everything is unfolding as God has ordained it from the beginning. He has already won the victory. His enemies just haven’t figured that out yet.
