Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!
(I love Merry Christmas rather than “happy holidays’ or “seasons Greetings”)
I must admit that I’m confused by this article. Is the author criticizing Jewish influence on Christmas? Or is he criticizing Andrew Torba‘s criticism of Jewish influence on Christmas?
I always correct the ‘happy holidays’ crowd by asking them which Holy day they’re referring to.
I don't care who wrote those and similar ditties ... One thing they are not is CHRISTmas songs. The idea that they are intended to replace CHRISTmas with some sort of pseudo-nostalgic commercialism is really fairly obvious.
Are they (the songs) anti-Christ?
I’m listening to the podcast night now. Andrew Torba is making excellent points. These songs are taking away from Christ’s birth.
They are not “Christmas songs” they are winter songs.

“Are they (the songs) anti-Christ? “
of course they are!
The idea of these songs is to have people, mostly children thinking and singing about santa, rudolph, frosty and NOT Christ. That is anti-christ.
When you are singing “Joy to the world” “little town in Bethlhelm” and “Silent Night” you are singing and thinking about Christ.
Just wow.
I beg to differ. Check out a few department store, big-box store, and other retail websites. The word "Christmas" is pretty hard to find on many of them
"Costco" is all "holiday". Lowes is pretty much all "Christmas". Macy's is all "holiday". Home Despot is "Christmas". JC Penney is about half-half. Walmart thinks "the season" is all about "The Grinch".
“Walmart thinks “the season” is all about “The Grinch””
That is because wal mart is owned by a Grinch!!😂😂😂
Yea I know, some stores use “Christmas” and some don’t.
Who is the fellow responsible for Winter?
And the main thing it's about is feeling good and being nice around the 'winter holidays' time. It's not evil, necessarily, but it's the archetype for the "Christmas Movie" that merely happens to be set in late December in a snowy part of the world. It really has nothing to do with the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ, ~2000 years ago.
In my area one of the local stations has been playing nonstop “Christmas” music starting shortly before Thanksgiving. They do this each year. Checking to see which carols they included I discovered Baby It’s Cold Outside, Santa Baby, Last Christmas, Rockin Around the Christmas Tree, etc. All with a multitude of cover versions. Nothing to do with the birth of Christ.
you’d love this guy’s podcast...

Same as the fellow responsible for Spring, Summer, Fall, The Dry Season, The Monsoon, the lack of seasonal variation in some climates. I bet "sleighride" really stirs up the nostalgia in Houston ... or Perth.
If Torba is in fact criticizing Jewish influence on Christmas songs, then he should just shut up and go away. He’s being bigoted and divisive. I highly doubt that Jewish writers wrote those songs just to confuse and disorient Christians.
I most certainly get that many “Christmas songs” have nothing to do with the birth of Christ. That is most unfortunate! I wish it were otherwise. But my goodness. To connect those songs to Jews specifically is a bit over the top.
Side note to the original poster: I have followed your many excellent posts here on FR. Please understand that my criticism is directed to Torba only.
Torba? I agree with his promotion of Christianity in society (although I’m fairly certain he’d not consider me Christian. Back atcha, dude ...). Unfortunately, his website attracts a large number of real creeps who would have been right at home in Berlin, ca.1939.
