Christianity Today blames the decline of church attendance among liberals on Trump. An article titled Trump-Era Controversies Had a Measurable Effect on Church Attendance at Christianity Today presents church attendance data from researcher, Ryan Burge, and posits a direct correlation between the Trump presidency and a marked decrease in church attendance among Democrats, particularly moderates and left-leaning evangelicals.
This theory, presented rather speculatively, suggests that Trump’s election and subsequent actions created a “ripple effect” in American society, alienating self-described Democrats from their congregations and further imples that the political climate under Trump was so polarizing that it led to a doubling of these liberals, particularly in their 20s to 50s, turning away from church.
However, such an assertion overlooks key biblical principles. Scripture teaches the importance of gathering with fellow believers as a hallmark of being born again and receiving new life in Christ (Hebrews 10:24-25). The alignment of one’s values and beliefs according to God’s Word is central to Christian living, and regular church attendance is an outward manifestation of this inner change.
The Bible teaches that love for Christ is demonstrated through obedience to His commands (John 14:15). When people align themselves with policies and ideologies that contradict biblical teachings—such as those associated with the Democratic platform on issues like abortion and LGBTQ rights—at minimum, it raises questions about commitment to align their lives with God’s will according to the Scriptures. True regeneration by the Holy Spirit results in a desire to be part of a body of believers who uphold biblical truths.
Therefore, suggesting that it is Trump’s presidency that’s at the heart of the decline in church attendance among certain groups is rather absurd. Church attendance is a matter of the heart itself—whether it has been transformed by the renewing power of the Holy Spirit. Those who have experienced such a transformation will naturally gravitate towards communities that uphold and celebrate biblical values, irrespective of the political climate.
I believe it was the Trump supporters that left my church.
Why did they leave? To attend another one?
It is the mainline denominations drying up and it started 40+ years ago when the social revolutionaries of the 60’s and 70’s with their homosexual agenda began infiltrating churches, universities and the government. Check the Barna reports. They are clear. The Presbyterian, Lutheran and Episcopal churches (and others) lost almost half their membership in forty years and hundreds of churches closed. Trump’s MAGA governance could turn that around.
More like Faucci’s fault

More like the work of the Devil.
Fauci and the Marxist RAT Pope who demeaned the Church.
Under the present Marxist Pope, (at best he could be described as uber socialist one worlder but I think just plain damn Marxist) my church left me. I did not leave it.
Christianity Today long ago stopped being the Voice of Evangelicals.
I'm not sure you understand. We. Left. The. Church. Why? Because of the increasing fascism. Perhaps some did go somewhere else, but that was not the point.
The decline in mainline Protestantism parallels the moral decline of the US and northern Europe. The left has succeeded in many of its goals.
President Trump aka SOS aka Save Our Society
President Biden aka SOS aka Son of Satan
Is there any such thing as a Christian democrat?
homosexual rights, abortion, global warming, and socialism conflict with Biblical Truth
Christianity today became Satanism today- A long time ago.
I wonder if this has anything to do with it:
“His wife, Joyce Koo Dalrymple who is Chinese origin, currently serves as the Director of Discipleship and Connections at Wellspring Alliance Church”.
another thing from that article:
“Timothy who goes by Tim, was recently criticized by faith leaders following a an op-ed in the prominent Christian magazine and which calls for Donald Trump to be removed from office”.

I don’t believe that one can be a Christian and a democrat. Those two things are mutually compatible.
You can be a Christian or a demonrat but not both.
You have to choose between Biblical Christianity and the platform of the demonrat party.
Church attendance was declining long before Trump emerged on the scene. Most of it has to do with the ministry going soft and trying to compromise with a corrupt culture.
Church membership requires moral living.
Democrats don’t have morals. They worship the State (when it’s not controlled by Republicans).
The Rats give fealty to the primary tenants of the Heretic Pope, which are infanticide, sodomy and Gaia earth.
My church went woke after George Floyd incident. They left me, and I left them after 35 years. This new ‘Social Justice gospel’ (SJG) is the reason thousands of believers like me have left. The SJG starts with a premise that ‘poverty’ leads to anger ect. It’s completely unbiblical - Proverbs is replete with verses that foolishness, self centered attitude, lack of self control leads to poverty. Tried to talk to the pastor, and found out he was essentially a Marxist - believes in CRT, etc
