Isn't that why it's called a theory? Yet the religion-freaks, point to an ultimate being that they can't physically prove exists, and will point to the subject of aliens and proclaim that there's no such thing. If God, in whatever shape, form, or name you want to use for it created us...then couldn't it be conceivable that it also created other lifeforms? Perhaps we are actually an earlier generation and/or prototype for something else it had in mind.
The other interesting thing is that there are areas across the globe that defy the normal history of things. Not too mention evidence of some much earlier cultures that had an understanding beyond what should have been possible, or the ability to build what would be difficult, if not impossible with modern technology today.
If nothing else is truly out there, wouldn't it be an awful waste of space?
