When your whole family and most friends and probably your employer or business contacts are in, and are required to shun you if you leave,it gets complicated.
Especially in Utah, where nearly everyone is LDS. Like the Non-conformists of The 1600’s, they are not only shunned by their own families and taught they’ll lose their salvation, but they very likely will lose their jobs.
