Probably the most often-used and controversial passage of Scripture by pro-ETH (extra-terrestrial hypothesis) UFOlogists is the account of “the sons of God” and their resultant offspring, the Nephilim. The description in Genesis 6:1–7 reads:
When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown.

I see your point bro. The sons of God, are fallen angels. 👍
Paging John MacArthur, David Jeremiah, Charles Stanley, Greg Laurie, Robert Jeffriess, Hal Lindsay. Help!
:-)
I've got the book too and recommend it very hightly. Have read it several times. One of my favorites.
The Unseen Realm (book) by Michael Heiser
“I believe the Sons of God were people who kept the precepts of God.”
You “believe” based on what? You just pulled it out of your ass. Why would their offspring be noted as very different from all other usual mating if the couple were regular humans?
“...the word giant in Genesis 6:4 comes from the word Nephilim, which means “a feller,” or one who fells a tree because of his unusual strength...”
That is about the dumbest thing I have ever heard.
Normal humans, do not produce monsters. The Nephilim were monsters. Nephilim does not mean tree fellers. It means fallen ones.
fallen angels ping
Sorry to see him pass on. He will be missed.
We don't know what this is, but it could likely be related to what is described in Gen. 6.
Same here. He was too young to go.
No. I posted a link giving the Jewish interpretation. SInce the OT is their Scriptures, they might know more about it.
Sky gods, aka aliens, have been reported by every major religion to have descended from the stars.
They created us, in THEIR image, so of course the later mission crews would want to taste some of that hybrid breeding experiment stuff themselves.
Earth chicks are hot!
No such think as demons, just horny aliens who broke some rules, the overlord council handled it.
I find this interesting because these people were so evil, they created more evil and God had to destroy man kind except for 6 people…. What they are…I don’t know but they are definitely pure evil creating evil. Evil spreads much faster than good.
“SInce the OT is their Scriptures, they might know more about it”
No, not according to what Jesus Himself said about their understanding of scripture.
Yes. you are right. And I have seen most of the ones you listed (or else read their books). I picked Dr. Missler’s to post because it is one of the easiest to understand, though I really loved Heiser’s book (Unseen Realm), with more details, but a bit longer to absorb. And Trey Smith ….. who was so instrumental in helping to bring one of my sons to the Lord, but somewhat difficult for our older generation to relate to…… still I am so grateful for his teaching.
The 'sons of God' could be descendants of Adam and Eve and the human creation dating to that time, while the 'men' would have been leftover pre-Adamites or Cro-Magnons.
>>>I believe the Sons of God were people who kept the precepts of God. Sons of me were the irreligious.
The Sons of men found the daughters of the religious to be pretty enough for marriage and they all married each other.
Just like they do today.>>>
You are correct. There were 2 distinct lines following Cain’s posterity. Cain, Nimrod, etc.....the wicked on the earth. Eventually God even had to destroy the whole earth with a flood due to this evil line, saving only Noah and his family.
Intermarriage between the Godly and wicked was a huge problem in the Old Testament. God repeatly warned against this. We are only asking for trouble.
Some believe the sons of God in this context are angels.....as if Angels get turned on by human female. Poor Bible Scholarship. Jesus even said Angels are different and do not marry, etc.
There is so much poor Bible scholarship these days....pretrib rapture, immortal soul, hell that tortures people forever....(people don’t study the word forever)....etc. I think it’s all related to modern day dispensationalism. The view OT as Jew and Law, NT as Christian and Grace. All to get rid of the weekly holy day...they don’t even keep Sunday anymore. At the protestants of old kept Sunday, the whole day as the Lord’s day. They kept the wrong day in the right way and I think God honored that.
The Old Testament is quite clear in that the "Sons of God" (Bene Elohim) in Genesis 6 were angels. Nowhere in the Old Testament is that term used for anything or anyone EXCEPT FOR angels.
If you can prove otherwise, please state it here.
“Angels, spirits, don’t have tangible bodies or human DNA or human chromosomes. And we don’t see any other time in history where angels got cahootin’ with earth women.”
And yet Mary became pregnant.
