How depressing. Critical thinking has vanished in two generations.

At least mine managed to retain a little bit of it... Though that’s not saying much.

I read somewhere where a politician from one of our enemies was even somewhat sad that the children here hate their own country and that it is the only country in the world where the schools are teaching the students the hatred.

Critical thinking was the essence of how and what students’ took away from 12 years of public school learning. (Up until about 2012 that is.) A child who masters critical thinking can learn anything. After about 2012 there was a large tsunami of humanism introduced in Texas public education, followed by greater and greater mind control and empty, worthless theories about normal, everyday life. Education had nothing to do with academics. Mediocracy replaced excellence. Perversity is accepted as the norm. I saw it coming and said so. I lasted as long as I could but the happiest time of teaching was the day I left.
