Went into our local town’s Espicopalian church recently, because its a lovely old historical church and I had never been inside it.

It was clearly in need of all kinds of maintenance. I was greeted by an overweight pink-haired female “pastor.” It was in a bad neighborhood too, so I doubt it got more than a handful of congregants

It made me sad when I thought about the social and political leaders, intellectual and religious elites and wealthy patrons who built it 150+ years ago with such a unity of purpose.

The problem with woke churches is people can go elsewhere. Then the churches fade into obscurity.

Our town has one of those too and I’ve been in it. Like many churches around these parts it has a “old section” built 100 or so years ago and a new section built about in the 1970’s or after.

I saw the much smaller older section and it was beautiful. I was shocked at how “Catholic” it looked. I thought to myself “and these people support abortion and homosexuality??? WHY?”

I did not not see the new section, maybe that explains a lot. They probably had the rainbow flags in there because they sure as hell did not have them in the older section.
