Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Acts 4

Peter and John Before the Sanhedrin

4 The priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to Peter and John while they were speaking to the people. 2 They were greatly disturbed because the apostles were teaching the people, proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead. 3 They seized Peter and John and, because it was evening, they put them in jail until the next day. 4 But many who heard the message believed; so the number of men who believed grew to about five thousand.

5 The next day the rulers, the elders and the teachers of the law met in Jerusalem. 6 Annas the high priest was there, and so were Caiaphas, John, Alexander and others of the high priest’s family. 7 They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: “By what power or what name did you do this?”

8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers and elders of the people! 9 If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a man who was lame and are being asked how he was healed, 10 then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. 11 Jesus is

“‘the stone you builders rejected,
    which has become the cornerstone.’[a]

12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. 14 But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say. 15 So they ordered them to withdraw from the Sanhedrin and then conferred together. 16 “What are we going to do with these men?” they asked. “Everyone living in Jerusalem knows they have performed a notable sign, and we cannot deny it. 17 But to stop this thing from spreading any further among the people, we must warn them to speak no longer to anyone in this name.”

18 Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him? You be the judges! 20 As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

21 After further threats they let them go. They could not decide how to punish them, because all the people were praising God for what had happened. 22 For the man who was miraculously healed was over forty years old.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Lord and Heavenly Father
Our Healer,
Our Great Physician,
LORD, Our Strength!
You Are The The One Who Fortifies Us.
You Are Our Defense
And You Lift Us Up
To Do Things of Which We Could Not Even Dream.
If YOU are For Us, Who can be Against Us?
All Of Nature Bows To You!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

This morning, as I was preparing this Thread, I went to my usual Bible Site to get my Scripture Portion of the Day. It is an awesome site, and free to use, with commentary, hundreds of languages and translations, and a Hebrew/Greek/English Interlinear for in depth Word Study. However, such an in-depth, complex site requires a lot of money to keep going, and so the site has advertising. Lately, the site has been inundated with ads from TEMU, which is a Red Chinese version of Amazon selling tons of cheap junk for very low prices. Some of the items are questionable to say the least, but this morning was the worst I have ever seen, T-Shirts with unmistakably obscene slogans on them. I won't go into detail, but these were really BAD. I tried to find a way to report the abuse, but by the time I figured out how to do that, the ad was gone and I had no proof.

While I understand the need for the Site to carry advertising to survive, it is unfortunate that they don't have a way of filtering out the offensive stuff. While the Advertiser may have a right to advertise, the Site should also have the right to say, "No Thank You".

In a Land blessed with a wise Constitution, a Bill of Rights, and cherished liberty, we find it hard to understand why on earth Peter and John were arrested for healing a crippled man and preaching the Gospel. Yet we marvel at the poise and courage that Peter exhibits in the face of the authorities.

While we may bristle with indignation that such a thing could never happen here, I remember an elderly Catholic Priest being arrested on May 15, 2009 as he was protesting Abortion at Notre Dame College (Full Video here, if you can stand it.)

Peter stands before the most learned men and speaks plainly and boldly, quoting Scripture and being a powerful witness. The men who know their Scriptures can't refute him, even though Peter is just a humble fisherman from Galilee, which was considered "the sticks" back in those days. All they can do is order Peter to shut-up, which, of course, he has no plans on doing.

People seem to have no problem whatsoever voicing obnoxious opinions, but get very defensive when Truth is exposed. There are even tactics taught in our universities on how to "Jam" speakers who express an opinion contrary to "The Narrative".

Jesus told us not to be afraid to speak the Truth. He said not to rehearse what we are going to say, or worry if the words will be there when we need them. The Holy Spirit gives us Inspiration to be able to say exactly the right thing when the need arises.

Never be ashamed or afraid to speak the Truth, no matter what the consequences. Whatever happens in the short run can't compare to Eternity.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 51

To the leader. A Psalm of David, when the prophet Nathan came to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.

1 Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin.

3 For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against you, you alone, have I sinned,
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you are justified in your sentence
and blameless when you pass judgement.
5 Indeed, I was born guilty,
a sinner when my mother conceived me.

6 You desire truth in the inward being;*
therefore teach me wisdom in my secret heart.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8 Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones that you have crushed rejoice.
9 Hide your face from my sins,
and blot out all my iniquities.

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and put a new and right* spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me away from your presence,
and do not take your holy spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and sustain in me a willing* spirit.

13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways,
and sinners will return to you.
14 Deliver me from bloodshed, O God,
O God of my salvation,
and my tongue will sing aloud of your deliverance.

15 O Lord, open my lips,
and my mouth will declare your praise.
16 For you have no delight in sacrifice;
if I were to give a burnt-offering, you would not be pleased.
17 The sacrifice acceptable to God* is a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

18 Do good to Zion in your good pleasure;
rebuild the walls of Jerusalem,
19 then you will delight in right sacrifices,
in burnt-offerings and whole burnt-offerings;
then bulls will be offered on your altar.

Unfortunately due to sin we now live in a country where our constitutional system is dying and the antichrist system is rising We need God’s Holy Spirit and Word so we may stand and even suffer and die as Peter did. Thank you Lord Jesus, because we wouldn’t have eternal Life without you.
