His father was divorced in 2000 and should have been removed from the pulpit. The son just followed the father's example in applying scripture.
Strict like no woman would ever teach him
Like women should not be preachers
He and his son had serious disagreements
Father thought he was always right.
His wife divorced him. The Bible teaches if a spouse wants to leave, let them go. He didn’t divorce her. She divorced him. Why should he have been punished for them?
I agree with your statement. I know almost nothing about the divorce. But it really bothers me how there are so many men who claim they are somehow excluded from, well, being excluded.
Andy Stanley? Ppfftt
He sure has done a big job of leading people away from the clear teaching of Scripture. This era of homosexual acceptance and promotion at his “church” is likely just another step in a long series of errors.
And he brought millions of people to Christ after his divorce by serving in that very pulpit you would have removed him from.
So you are saying that your religiosity is more important than the salvation of those millions brought to Christ?
They had a disagreement.. Charles Stanley had strong beliefs and not much room for other opinions.
Andy’s church is north of Atlanta in a wealthy area. My son has been to his church. It is very large and newcomers can get lost in the crowd.. Finding a place to fit and grow in so many.
Andy is definitely casual.. And perhaps casual takes no hard line on anything.. Homosexuality goes against everything Godly.
