		IT’S A LONG, LONG WAY TO BETHLEHEM

LUKE 1: In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken. And everyone went to his own town to register.

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary.

To walk ninety miles from Nazareth to Bethlehem, only to be shut out of lodging when about to burst: that was tough. And with an unexpected trip to Egypt in the offing. How they must have regaled Jesus later with tales of their hardships on His behalf!
