The early church was rife with syncretism wherein evangelists would tell various goddess worship cults that Christianity wouldn't be alien to them because it has its own "goddess" (i.e., Mary).
In other words, "Become a Christian and bring your goddess with you."
It is interesting that those who worship Mary don't realize the pagan/demonic origin of it. It isn't Mary they are worshiping, despite what they might think.

And that idea of mother-son co-reigning is a very old pagan concept, long before RC embraced it. It’s all pagan.
