The opposite is true, that nothing can detract from- or diminish the theological value of scripture and how God has revealed himself through it.

From your Mona Lisa analogy....

The question then arises, they why do you add to it with writings from the early church fathers, the CCC, and *sacred tradition*????

And why do Catholics says Scripture alone is not enough, not adequate that those things need to be added to it?

You see Tradition as something being "added" to Scripture ...
We don’t.
You think this way,
and can only think this way
because you reject anything not in scripture,
believe Scripture is all there is- for you.
You believe tradition is external from - or a separate element totally apart from.

You dont see where tradition often came before scripture.
I wonder if you realize that much of scripture is simply
Tradition being documented with text on a page.

For this reason of Tradition in Scripture,
we see, and Worship,
tradition and scripture intertwined, co-existent.

Along with the Apostolic Teaching these three elements,
Sripture, Tradition and Apostolic Teaching
work together very much in a "Trinitarian" relationship-
with the same tri-lateral type of dependency like the Trinity.
For Catholics, these 3 elements, working together,
form the bulwark of the Church.

So you didnt like my Mona Lisa analogy?
