Ravi justified willful sin from his belief in OSAS/OJAJ. Said nothing will keep him out of heaven.
“that’s more in line with your camp.”
The believer in Christ, who has been sealed by the Spirit, is delivered from the wrath of God by virtue of their faith in Christ and only Christ.
Is a believer subject to God's chastisement or corrective actions? Yes. As earthly fathers discipline their kids so does God discipline His children.
The believer has been sealed by the Holy Spirit (Eph 1:13-14). As God is the One Who seals only God could unseal a person. There are no passages indicating this happens.
A Christian knows his or her "good works" will fall short of the glory of God. You cannot be "good enough" to gain Heaven nor can one keep the Law perfectly.
IF a person is attempting to gain God's favor by trying to keep they Law perfectly they are trying to be justified via the Old Covenant....not the New.
All sin keeps a person from God. Be it a thought or an action.
The Roman Catholic believes it's their actions that may or may not keep them from Heaven. They're not confident in the promises of Scripture on this matter.
This is why, IMHO, many turn to wearing the scapular and/or miraculous medal in hopes those idols will keep them from Hell.
They've chosen to believe a false message of an apparition over the inspired Word of God.
They've chosen to wear an idol vs believing the inspired Word of God.
The shed blood of Christ is either sufficient to cleanse the believer of all sins...past, present and future, or it isn't. And if the latter is true then there is no hope for anyone.
It is our sincere prayer that all on this forum come to a saving faith in Christ, and only Christ. For He is the One Who died for our sins...all of them.
If the man is saved he will gain Heaven.
However, his ministry is in ruins. He will no longer be listened to. That's the consequence of his actions.
The blood of Christ either cleanses all sin or it doesn't.
And yes...Miller was a false prophet with the "visions".
——>If the man is saved he will gain Heaven.
IF HE’S SAVED???
You are ALL saved, at the microsecond of Grace. WHAT IS THIS IF HE’S SAVED BUSINESS???
——>And yes...Miller was a false prophet with the “visions”.
That’s between him and God, in the Judgment.

Church law on fasting has changed over the centuries since fasting is a discipline which may be altered by legitimate Church authorities.
******
There is no mandated day or way to fast. It is how the believer is lead by the Spirit.
He may be saved or not.
But if he is, his sins are forgiven and that's the key point.
But as I said...the consequences of his actions are his ministry is now in ruins.
David sinned with Bathsheba and even though he was forgiven, his household faced turmoil going forward. The consequences of his actions.
How many "good" points do you need?
How do you know you've done the "right" things to gain Heaven?
No. I disagree with you view entirely.
They are a heresy/cult.
——>How do you know you’ve done the “right” things to gain Heaven?
If I were you, I’d start here.
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
1 John 2:3By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments. 4If anyone says, “I know Him,” but does not keep His commandments, he is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But if anyone keeps His word, the love of God has been truly perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him: 6Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked.
——>As God is the One Who seals only God could unseal a person...There are no passages indicating this happens.
You could not be more wrong. BTW, they will also be blotted out of the Book of Life (Elsie loves it when I say that)
Hebrews 10:
26For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
——>A Christian knows his or her “good works” will fall short of the glory of God. You cannot be “good enough” to gain Heaven nor can one keep the Law perfectly.
Saved by Grace, THEN follow God, in obedience and love, for what He did for us on the cross. Everyone will be judged by the law, and that certainly includes you and I (Elsie too). God is no respecter of persons. How you live your life, AFTER your microsecond of Grace, determines how you are judged.
I apologize to Elsie. I didn’t ping him to my previous post. Sorry.
——>He may be saved or not.
Why do you keep saying that? Are YOU saved at Grace or not? Ravi said he was. Who are you to say he might not be saved?
IF HE CLAIMS GRACE, HE’S IN. That is the whole point of OSAS/OJAJ, is it not?
The fine. If you had said a gazillion bajillion times then that would be an exaggeration.
Yes, but when I was a Catholic, so many decades ago, we didn’t really fast. We just didn’t eat meat 🥩 on Fridays, under pain of committing a mortal sin. Once I had some gravy, which is a meat 🍖 product. I was scared that I had committed a mortal sin, and I was scared of Hell, until I could get to confession again. After awhile, I just thought, I can’t live like this, but I didn’t know what to do about it. Later, I knew. Get out of the church. That as a step in the right direction. Now, I don’t fear hell. 👍 If others do, I can’t help that. 👍

The passage you posted is telling you there is no other way for forgiveness than faith in Christ...if you read it in context.
BUT,if you want to use this passage to try and deny the believer's salvation you will note if you do sin....and everyone does...then there's nothing left to save you.
From your position it means once you lose your salvation there is no getting it back. Period.
Is that what you believe?
In 1846, Ellen married James White, an Adventist preacher. Soon they became convinced that Sabbath-keeping was for all Christians. In 1847, Ellen G. White had another vision—this one confirming her new belief that Sabbath-keeping was to be a primary doctrine. The Adventists under Ellen G. White’s influence became Seventh-day Adventists. Ellen G. White’s many visions and writings—she was a prolific writer—greatly shaped the doctrine of Seventh-day Adventism. Today, most Seventh-day Adventists still consider Ellen White to be a prophetess of God, even though many of her prophecies failed to come true. In fact, Seventh-day Adventists consider Revelation 19:10 (“the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy”) to be a reference to Ellen G. White’s writings.
Other problematic doctrines in Seventh-day Adventism include the teaching that Satan is the “scapegoat” and will bear believers’ sins (The Great Controversy, p. 422, 485)—this is the opposite of what the Bible says about who bore our sins (1 Peter 2:24). Seventh-day Adventism also identifies Jesus as Michael the archangel (Jude 1:9, Clear Word Bible, published by Review and Herald Publishing Association, 1994)—a doctrine that denies the true nature of Christ—and teaches that Jesus entered a second phase of His redemptive work on October 22, 1844, as prophesied by Hiram Edson. And, of course, the Adventist promotion of Sabbath-keeping as a primary doctrine goes against the teaching of Scripture on the matter (see Romans 14:5).

Members of the SDA religion are not Christians as they believe, what Paul calls a different Gospel...which is to say a false Gospel.
You guys don’t even have missing Golden Plates to refer to.
We know who’s got them, and knowing what you know scripturally, what good would it do if we had them physically?
The very same believability issues would still apply. If you have a problem with Joseph Smith, you are going to have a problem with the Book of Mormon. Reading the book objectively is key. Deciding you don’t know everything and God is offering more is a mind set that helps.
More food for thought.
