Well it was a yom. In the Hebrew Bible, yom always means a standard day.

What kind of a day has a morning and evening? A normal one. Why would God say “morning and evening” and “day” when he didn’t mean it He is not the author of confusion. Don’t twist things.
the lord of creation can take as long as he want to create the heavens and the earth, as he and the word were there at the beginning.
