LISBON (LifeSiteNews) –– Recent events at World Youth Day in Lisbon, Portugal, have highlighted the widespread liturgical abuse of the Blessed Sacrament, with Catholics condemning the “sacrilegious” reservation of the Eucharist in plastic crates.
In recent days, pictures from World Youth Day in Lisbon have been circulating on social media, causing outrage and consternation amongst faithful Catholics.
The first notable example during this year’s WYD was the Mass for Portuguese pilgrims during which Tupperware bowls from IKEA were used instead of ciborium for distributing Communion. InfoVaticana reported that the decision to do this was confirmed by WYD organizers as being “in full agreement with the ecclesiastical authorities.”
Some days later, a fresh liturgical “sacrilege” emerged, with picture documentation presented online.

Revelation 9:21 is an interesting verse. It basically says: They would not repent of their murders, their magic potions, their unchastity or their thefts.
Murders covers all murders including abortions. Magic potions actually refers to ancient contraceptives. It’s erroneous when this is translated as only witchcraft or sorcery and so many Christians think as long as they’re not practicing witchcraft they can use contraceptives. Unchastity is any deed, thought or word outside of the lifelong union between one man or woman within marriage. Thefts covers stealing but could also get into unjust wages, and overtaxation/Big Government. Funny, but the Social conservative/Populist/MAGA movement seems to be much closer to the thinking of the Lord than the Democrat eco-pagan earth worship, abort your children through abortions or contraceptives agenda.
I attended World Youth Day in Denver in 1993 with Pope John Paul II. The final Mass on the Solemnity of the Assumption drew a crowd estimated at between 300,000 and 750,000. I want these huge events to take place but I also want profound reverence for the Blessed Sacrament. Pope Francis’ final Mass in Spain drew 1.5 million according to a news report I stumbled onto on CBS. Souls are converted and come back to the Church when these massive events take place, souls who haven’t been to Mass and Confession in decades. So, again, I hope these events can continue to take place, but there must be profound respect for the Holy Eucharist.

With all due respect, I disagree. I consider these Yute Days nothing more than "catholic" Woodstocks, that may or may not produced short-lived "conversions". And what exactly are they converting to? Frankenchurch?
I would, instead, recommend young Catholics to participate in traditional pilgrimages such as Chartres, where true reverence for the Blessed Sacrament is as natural as the sunrise.
Some of the conversions are short-lived, but some of them are prolonged and lasting. Pilgrimages to Chartres or the Way of St. James are excellent. I just agree with John Paul’s reasoning which was: We must do huge events and use the media to counter the tidal wave of secularism sweeping over the world. Will admit there are problems with Francis’ pontificate but we MUST get souls back into the churches before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
Do you also agree with John Paul’s reasoning to call for the Assisi group hugs with schismatics, heretics and pagans?
I think we should respectfully converse with such people without denying an iota of the truth. Here’s what we believe, we cannot water it down. I had problems with the Assisi gathering. The rumors were that then Cardinal Ratzinger (Benedict) had problems with it. An example of the reason dialogue can be useful is that Pope John Paul II used his cordial relationship with Muslims to get them to join with him in blocking the immoral Clinton agenda for poorer countries at the United Nations.
John Paul II also kissed a Koran and invoked St. John the Baptist to protect Islam and Jordan.
Pope Benedict removed his shoes in the Blue Mosque and apologized for his Regensburg address which had offended the Muslims.
Jesus didn’t promise that Peter and his successors would be impeccable. That is, sinless, or never having bad moments with improper gestures. Reverencing objects of false religions. Still think they are legitimately elected reigning popes despite these moments.
What does that have to do with the ongoing sacrilege of the Blessed Sacrament at World Yute Days?

No John Paul did not kiss a Koran. That was a Bible and those were middle eastern Christians.
On May 14th I was received by the Pope, together with a delegation composed of the Shi’ite imam of Khadum mosque and the Sunni president of the council of administration of the Iraqi Islamic Bank. There was also a representative of the Iraqi ministry of religion. I renewed our invitation to the Pope, because his visit would be for us a grace from heaven. It would confirm the faith of Christians and prove the Pope’s love for the whole of humanity in a country which is mainly Muslim.
At the end of the audience the Pope bowed to the Muslim holy book, the Qu’ran, presented to him by the delegation, and he kissed it as a sign of respect. The photo of that gesture has been shown repeatedly on Iraqi television and it demonstrates that the Pope is not only aware of the suffering of the Iraqi people, he has also great respect for Islam.
