Bishop Overbeck and young Germans at World Youth Day in Lisbon
German Bishop Franz-Josef Overbeck has posed for a picture with an LGBT “progress” Pride flag in a church in Lisbon during World Youth Day.
The photo was originally posted by the Instagram account of a youth group from the Parish of St. Mary’s Assumption and shared in an Instagram story by the account of the Diocese of Essen.
Overbeck, the Bishop of Essen, is seen holding an LGBT “progress flag” with a group of young Catholics inside a church. The caption on the photo reads “Today we celebrated Holy Mass with Bishop Overbeck.”
The “Progress Pride flag” was designed by a gender-confused activist in 2018 and is meant to include the “transgender community” and “racial minorities.”
A German politician from the Alternative for Germany (AfD), Maximilian Krah, shared the scandalous photo on X, formerly known as Twitter, and blasted Overbeck for his “anti-Christian” display.
“The German ‘Catholic’ Church with Bishop Overbeck at the World Youth Day in Lisbon,” he wrote. “They are openly anti-Christian.”
Overbeck is known for his heterodoxy, which includes his pro-LGBT and anti-family positions. In an interview in December 2022, Overbeck said that the Church must “widen its understanding of the family” to include every form “where people live with children.”
The Bishop of Essen has also authorized laywomen to administer the sacrament of baptism in his diocese, allegedly due to a “lack of priests.”

Overbeck is an ardent proponent of the heretical German Synodal Way that, among other heterodox proposals contradicting perennial Church teaching, has repeatedly called for changing doctrine on women’s ordinations and homosexual acts.

LifeSiteNews has reached out to the Diocese of Essen to ask for comment from Bishop Overbeck but has yet not received a response.
They should all pay for their blasphemy.

Great sausage, cars, roads, schnitzel, some baked items, cuckoo clocks and things like that.
But in everything else, Germany is always 100% ass-backwards wrong. They gave us sturm and drang, dueling scars, Communism, Nazism, Prussian bureaucracy, the EU, and homosexuality. Hell they even invented the word “Homosexuality”, also known as the “German Vice”.
Not sure why, but lordy they need to be kept on short leash.
They will pay. God is just.
He’s one of them so why not
LGBT is a special interest group representing very few people on the planet.
So I don’t understand why this group in particular has to be over-represented just about everywhere in a hysterical fashion.
Why can’t we put forward the cancer-fund or the Red Cross instead and have THEIR flags everywhere. I wouldn’t mind to have a red cross day once a year with red cross flags everywhere. They save lives.
Is LGBT saving lives every day? No.
So why are they so fanatically overrepresented everywhere?
Hysteria is a bad thing for human kind. It has always been.
Don’t forget the Germans also gave us Klaus Schwab, the WEF chairman who wants to force the entire world to:
• eat ze bugs
• live in ze pod
• take ze vaccine - you know, the one derived from Lyme disease (TICKS, gross) that will make us allergic to meat
• own nussing und be happy
All except for elites like him, of course. They can eat all the meat and own all the prime real estate they can get their hands on. No insect diet required for them, I am certain. A very short leash, indeed.
They should all pay for their blasphemy.

Become a protestant then!!! Stop being a cancer in the Catholic Church!
...oh, and take the rest of the German Bishops too...and the Bishop of Rome...and half the USCCB. How sad is the state of the Church since Vatican II.
