First, would Democrats support getting rid of the Motion Picture ratings code, so then anyone of any age could watch any movie in movie theaters?
It seems that according to liberals, it’s “censorship” to give some movies PG-13, R, and NC-17 ratings. Such ratings prevent many children from seeing many movies. Democrats seem to be arguing that children, no matter their age, should be allowed — and sometimes required — to watch anything if Democrats approve of it.
Second, will published information in the future require a liberal elite imprimatur, a “nihil obstat” that means the worldly establishment approves?
BIG GOVERNMENT is the new world religion.
Why not just return to the Hays Code done away with in 1968 when the movie industry said they would “police themselves” in the anti-violence hysteria after the murder of Bobby Kennedy.
Once they had a ratings system in place(GMRX) they proceeded refilm scenes adding lots of blood, guts, most vile cursing and sex! Lots of sex to get the coveted “R” and “X” ratings.
Most movies filmed before the ratings system were safe even for kids. More mature movies were advertised as “For adults only”
After the ratings code it was common to see newspaper adds for movies stating..”SO BOLD IT HAD TO BE RATED XXX!”
“[W]ould Democrats support getting rid of the Motion Picture ratings code, so then anyone of any age could watch any movie in movie theaters?”
Yes, but only if no one was watching. Look at the school board meetings where they stop parents from reading indecent material from books taken from the school library.
“[W]ill published information in the future require a liberal elite imprimatur, a ‘nihil obstat’ that means the worldly establishment approves?”
Absolutely! They are pretty far down that road already.
You’re asking:
would Democrats support getting rid of the Motion Picture ratings code, so then anyone of any age could watch any movie in movie theaters?
I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of that happening.
They are against humor no joke:
LOL
it is a trick question: they censor who and what they want to censor
