Some denominations are more firmly attached to particular ethnicities and cultures. Styles of worship differ. Those things appeal to different ethnicities. Much of Lutheranism is that way. It is what it is. I do like the idea of spreading Confessional Lutheranism beyond its historical base, though, and as I recall, they already have missions tasked with that. People who seek a home in Protestant Christianity would find a good home in the LCMS.
Too many white people, eh?

That’s BS. My LCMS church is two-thirds Asian (Hmong) easily. We have problems such as an aging congregation and we can’t call a pastor because LCMS pastors don’t want to relocate to California, but diversity isn’t a “problem”.
The Missouri synod has affiliated churches in Africa, and if anything they are more conservative.
There are actually many more Lutherans in Africa than in North America.
