I love to engage in serious debate and dialogue. It helps to put real issues on the table, it exposes weak positions and faulty reasoning, and it enables onlookers to hear both sides of the topic under discussion. It’s biblical, too, as referenced several times in Acts (see 9:22; 17:1-3, 16-17; 18:4, 27-28). And these debates often bear real fruit.
A few days ago, I spotted this comment on our YouTube channel: “Hello, Dr Brown. I just wanted to say, "I recently left Islam after watching some of your debates with Muslims about Muhammad being in the Bible or not.” Thank God!
At the same time, it’s very true that some people are not open to reason, and no amount of intellectual presentation will change their minds. The deception is that deep.
It is in this context that I was recently reminded of Paul’s words to Timothy, “And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil after being captured by him to do his will.” (2 Timothy 2:24–26)

We are in an End-Times spiritual battle.
The apex of that battle will be the soon-coming 70th Week of Daniel (9:27) ending in the utter liquidation of the anitchrist Left at the battle of Armageddon.
I’ll check back in in 1 1/2 years.
Eph. 6. [12] For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
I pray for strength and restraint, because I just get so worked up dealing with the wicked pro pedo types.
Probably more like the second half of this century. I think by the end of this century all hell would have broken loose, the hellish perps destroyed, and Jesus Christ will have ascended the throne of King of kings and Lord of lords - world rulership by the Prince of Peace.
What a day that will be.
Well said.
I know how you feel.
Amen 🙏🏻!!!!

“Always be prepared to give a defense to everyone who asks you the reason for the hope that is in you. But respond with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who slander you may be put to shame by your good behavior in Christ.(I Peter 3:15).
“some people are not open to reason, and no amount of intellectual presentation will change their minds. The deception is that deep.”
Sometimes the time is just not right for someone to change their views.
However exposure to views they disagree with still has value.
It may resonate weeks, months, even years later.

Thank you for finding and posting this, BB. I read the article through, and am quite familiar that in any argument, religious or not, the Spirit of Truth always comes to the fore. resisting it may even kill to avoid the consequences. So backing away from it (rather than backpedaling in reasoning) is a wise and necessary move.

More and more I am guided by the Holy Spirit towards KINDNESS. That could be on these threads, on the road and in every other area of my life. It's not always easy, though, I confess. People can be irritating. But every single one, I must always remember, is made in the image of God and deeply loved by Him. His will is that all be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. Those who don't go to heaven when they die do so of their own choices and free will. It is an amazing thing to be used by God as a vessel to reach another soul for Christ. Maybe it's planting a seed, maybe it's watering it, but GOD is who causes the growth.
Absolutely! We may never know this side of heaven the part we played in someone else’s salvation journey.
I agree. There are times when it’s best to just agree to disagree and pray for that person’s heart to be touched by the truth. I won’t back away from a discussion, but I will sometimes back off once it gets going.
Amen!
Or its manifestation through bitter rage may be soulish and irrational rather than either of the above, and deadly.
A cross, an Inquisition, a lynching, a dose of Zyklon B . . .
