The Long March through the institutions of American society continues. There is nothing in the wording of the Lord's Prayer that contradicts Jewish or Muslim teachings, although Jesus Christ was the author of that prayer. It clearly states that God deserves honor and the petitioner asks for God's kingdom to come. However, it does contradict various new age and Eastern religion teachings. Additionally, atheists would obviously have a problem.

if at some point, Alcoholics Anonymous mandates that the chapters abandon the Lord's Prayer, it will go on the trophy racks of the enemies of God and country, just like the Boy Scouts, the mainline Protestant churches, the YMCA, the U.S. military, etc.

It doesn't working that. The decision the say the Lord's Prayer is made according to the group conscience as expressed at each separate meeting because "2. For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority — a loving God as He may express Himself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern." There is no top down management. Each group is its own experiment. A group fails when participants stop coming, which shows the lack of unity that is required for the group to succede.
