“Not once ... did anyone ONCE ever crack open a Bible”
When we relocate, when choosing a church we arrive early, sit in the parking lot, and observe whether or not people are carrying Bibles in to service. If not, we try a new place next Sunday.
I know some use their cell phones’ Bible apps (which seems weird). And some churches flash verses on screens, which we dislike. Carry a Bible, for Pete’s sake — and use it!
There’s no need for screens in church services. Or mega sound systems. For hundreds / thousands of years preaching was done without microphones and people got saved.
Last Sunday when we got to church three pews had been removed to make room to expand the “sound booth”. And our congregation is small. SMH.
If they at least put the verse on the screen with a reference to the version, chapter and of course the verse number, I must admit I like that.
Still, I went to a church that had one of the best, if not THE best Bible Prophecy teacher I know about. (he went to be with the Lord last year).
They (a couple of years ago) they were applauding Kirk Cameron telling them America would go on for 1,000 more years, the Democrat/Republican thing was no big deal and that he had a replica of a statue to was going to guide the nation back into righteousness.
It was bizarre hopium and frankly, delusional.
09/11/2001 had an effect. For a few years. I shudder to think of God shaking this nation again.
Since 2008, Americans have been taught to embrace things that would have shocked people even 50 years ago.
As we’re seeing today. In multiple places.
