I fail to see why people who say we need to be ready for the Lord's soon return are consistently being lectured to do the very thing they advocate as if they never thought that way before.

I'm simply responding to a post and giving my opinion. If I'm lecturing, so are you. My point is that you don't need to resort to the novel rapture theory to warn people that the Lord can come at any time. Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again. It's that simple.

Belief in the rapture does not mean we think it's an excuse to avoid our responsibility to share the gospel and live godly lives.

I never said it was. Maybe some people do, but you need to direct your comments at them.
