Namecalling and pigeonholing are absolutely poisonous to intelligent debate or discussion. They are not indicative of acting in good faith.

I guess Jesus really blew it then when He called the pharisees a brood of vipers, children of hell, and white washed tombs, for starters.

Besides, it's the Holy Spirit who inspired Scripture and used the term *scoffers*.

I could engage in name-calling, same as the author of the OP.

I prefer not to do that.

The author’s resort to preemptive namecalling tells me what sort of person he is, but tells me nothing about the target(s) thereof.

It seems likely that the author of the OP will continue his misconduct in self-assured self-righteousness. I can’t stop him or those like him.

OTOH, namecalling in place of rational debate and discussion has become distressingly common, even on this forum. I would be remiss if I did not call it out.
