Please, do not give in to the temptation to remain anchored to a nostalgic popular piety made only of external rites or to a sterile traditionalism that is rather the expression of the dead faith of the living. As I have had occasion to recall, tradition makes the Church grow from the bottom upwards, similar to the roots with the tree; but at present there is a great danger, that of going backwards, “going backwards, which leads us to think according to logic: it has always been done this way’ (citation). Bergoglio can't make one speech without attacking traditional Catholics and the Faith of Our Fathers. He has resorted to calling it "dead". (the dead faith of the living)
Try as he might to kill that "faith", it will long outlive him.

He’s obsessed with Traditional Catholicism. Guilty conscience (if he has one)?

Steril modernism is the real problem. I see traditionalism quite regularly ... it's definitely not sterile.
a nostalgic popular piety
I'm really tired of that trite trope. The people I see at Latin Mass are almost ALL younger than me. They're not motivated by "nostalgia".
