Thought I would re-post about these astonishing and frightful events with an addition or two. Hope that is OK.
Monster movies don’t hold a candle to the terror and horror that’s coming next - flying horse-scorpion-monsters, so unimaginably frightening that people will want to die but can’t (Rev. 9:6), followed by 200 million flying horse-like monsters who grant their wish to die and kill 1/3 of the earth’s population (Rev. 9:18).
Today’s passage is the first of the two monster movies mentioned above. The bible says these are “locusts” shaped like horses. Nobody’s riding them. It occurs to me that hints that these are small creatures like locusts that fly and sting. Oof. What a nightmare for those who are living on the earth who have not repented.
1/4 of the earth’s population were previously killed by the time the four horsemen were done (Rev. 6:8). Now after this Monster Mash, another 1/3 of the earth’s population is dead. That’s a total of 1/2 the earth’s population dead in the first half (Jesus called “The Beginning of Sorrows” (Matt 24:8)) of the seven-year tribulation - and the worst is yet to come. Interesting how demonic terror are seen as horses and horse-like creatures.
Again, thank the Lord for our wonderful salvation (we’ll be watching from Heaven’s Mezzanine) and our not being appointed to this astonishing seven years of the wrath of the Lamb (1 Thess. 5:9).
And, again, when it’s the Lord’s turn, He and we will ride white horses to destroy the beast and his evil minions. Here, God’s vengeance on wickedness rides on hoses, but these are White, Heavenly Horses. Horses seem to symbolize battle and death, especially in Revelation.
To anyone reading this, if you haven’t yet received Jesus Christ into your heart, this is a really good time to do it. Eternal life and saved from this unimaginable wrath to come.
Good Morning Dan, and happy Friday to all.
A frightening prophecy of what shall come, maybe soon...
Thank You Dan.
people will want to die but can’t
I've never quite understood that: God prevents their suicide, to ensure they experience the full effect? And yet billions are dead already. Any ideas?
Frightening indeed, Leon. But the fear of God is....
Amazing artworks to illustrate this frightful event. Thank you, Dan.

Illustrate it we must, Alba: in our own imaginings if not also these artists’. This series’ value lies in placing these texts and visions before us to be remembered and seen.
I await it too, Tom. It’s well that the Spirit supplies us with patience.
It’s a 5-month preview of coming attractions - the lake of fire where those who refused Christ and his great and free salvation instead suffer forever. My mind doesn’t seem to allow me to comprehend that suffering forever - it’s too much for my puny mind.
I guess preventing death in this case is a form of judgment.
This is a time to “compel” (Luke 14:23) others to come in while there’s time.
Very soon. Third temple being built. Euphrates river drying up..
I expect you've heard that "the gates of hell are locked from the inside". Given the stark choice between maintaining their own personal hegemony versus bowing personally to their Creator's Lordship, more than half of humans opt for the former.
And I suggest the answer to your quandary lies here: the more strongly they have rebelled against Him, the more punishment they have earned; God metes out their punishment proportionate to their rebellion, and their rebellion is always great enough to keep them in their hell.
For the last 2000 years, we have been and continue to be in the “acceptable year” vs. what’s coming, “the day of vengeance” (Isiah 61:2). Notice it’s the “acceptable YEAR” and the “DAY of vengeance”.
God’s focus is on grace and mercy - the age of grace for 2000 years. Compare that with the day of wrath - the seven-year tribulation of God’s wrath.
We are still in the acceptable year of God’s grace wherein “God is in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation” (2 Cor 5:19).
Too many Christians are condemning the world, but not God. He is constantly reaching out to the world in love telling them THROUGH US that Christ is their salvation and reconciliation.
But “that that is determined will be done.” (Daniel 11:36). That terrible day is coming and soon.
I love eternal life. I have it and it is real. But I doubt very many can wrap their heads around eternal judgment and condemnation in the flames of the lake of fire. Try it. I doubt your mind allows you to truly comprehend that. It’s too much. Eternal suffering. Never ends. Doesn’t compute in my puny brain. Oh it will happen, but there are some things we will understand better in the ages to come. I don’t think God wants us to focus on that but when I think about it, it’s too much to comprehend for me (and I think for most if not all).
Well, I've already indicated that I do comprehend it, and I am aware of others who do, also. But we can certainly agree that it is a troubling doctrine.
I don’t have a problem with the doctrine because what I don’t fully understand, I try to leave in God’s hands knowing that God is love and is not mean or vindictive and that he himself as the Son took all the punishment for sin himself.
Which is OK because our focus is on the preaching God commands us to preach, “Be reconciled to God who wants reconciliation with all.”
Eternity itself is kind of hard to imagine in a way I think. I think I have a glimpse of eternal life and it is wonderful. But I can’t even begin to image nor do I really want to I guess, being on fire forever. Whew. But again God doesn’t wat us to focus on that, but on his blessing on us and as many who will come to him.
Thank you for doing your part in influencing people to come to him.
This is the commission He has given me, and along with the commission He provides the desire and the ability to fulfill it. It is His show.
Very cool.
God bless.
Couple of last thoughts on this. (Did I tell you that I believe someday soon I’ll write a book on the end times, mainly to inform and comfort God’s people but also to warn the unbeliever?)
Anyway a couple of last summary thoughts here on this...
The first of the double feature Fright Night: The Invasion of the Flying Scorpion-Demons. Nobody that wants to will die (reference Phil Connors in Groundhog Day).
The second future: The Invasion of 200 million Horse-Lion Demons with snakes as tails that bite you, who kill an average of over eight people per demon. Those who wanted to die in the first feature will get their wish in this feature.
Seems to me that you possess the knowledge, temperament and writing ability to succeed with your book. If God indeed has called you to write it, then clearly He has been equipping you for it.
