“Christian” University Will Pay for Students to Kill Their Babies in Abortions

Wesleyan University, a prominent and supposedly Christian school, plans to begin paying for students to abort their unborn babies this fall.

Over the weekend, a university spokesperson confirmed the news in response to demands from the pro-abortion club Young Democratic Socialists of America, NBC Connecticut reports.

Wesleyan University is a private Methodist Episcopal university in Middletown, Connecticut. Founded in 1831, it was named after Methodist founder and Christian evangelist John Wesley. However, the school has strayed from its Christian roots in recent years by hosting pro-abortion events that promote killing unborn babies in abortions.

Starting in the fall, the university will pay for elective abortions, contraception and other reproductive health care services for all students, the Hartford Courant reports. The school also will pay students’ travel expenses for abortions.

The announcement comes in response to a campaign from the university chapter of Young Democratic Socialists of America, prompted by the overturning of Roe v. Wade, according to the report.

The club collected more than 700 signatures on a petition supporting abortions, and club leaders said they reached an agreement last week with university administrators. According to the Courant, a school spokesman confirmed the agreement Friday.

“With the start of (the) fall semester, Wesleyan will ensure that there is no financial cost borne by students to access abortion by covering all medical costs after insurance, paying for transportation to and from the clinic and providing appropriate pain-relief medication after the procedure,” the socialist club said in a statement. “Additionally, they have agreed to provide emergency contraceptives (Plan B and Ella) to all students on campus, free at the point of service.”

Ella also can cause an early abortion.

The club claimed the cost of an abortion is a “significant barrier to meeting the needs of all students,” and its demands are part of a “movement for reproductive justice nationwide.”

“Wesleyan now plays a pioneering role in reproductive healthcare among private liberal arts colleges by committing to cover the entire cost of abortion after insurance for all students,” the club said.

However, the demands are very one-sided and pro-abortion, not “pro-choice.” Prenatal care, childbirth, maternity leave, childcare and other support for pregnant and parenting students was not mentioned.

Abortion activists are pushing to expand abortions on college campuses across the U.S. This year, California began forcing public colleges and universities to provide abortions on campus, and New York just passed a bill to do the same.

Meanwhile, many of the same people supporting these efforts also are working to shut down pregnancy resource centers and other pro-life charities that provide free support services to help families choose life for their babies.

ACTION ALERT: To complain about the abortion funding, contact Wesleyan University.

We seriously need to stop promoting hedonism and promiscuity. I swear, this country is turning into Sodom and Gomorrah!

The Methodist church went to the dark side decades ago.

I am so glad I stopped attending Wesleyan churches. This is the final nail in their collective coffin. That said, this one shocks me. I never thought the Wesleyan denomination would agree to something like this.

This university is CINO: Christian in name only! There is nothing Christian about promoting infanticide or sexual promiscuity!

I could see the UMC doing this, but I never thought the Wesleyan denomination would. You’re right though, there is nothing Christian about promoting infanticide or sexual promiscuity.

It’s a revealing aspect of how the left’s complete disregard for human life has evolved: Schools have gone from offering free condoms to students to, having apparently given up on them, paying for them to murder their kids.

What will be next? Public abortions to cheering crowds? Raffles to let students perform one? Academic credit? (Please, God, don’t let them get ideas from this post.)

“Public abortions to cheering crowds?”

It’ll be written into Title IX. And it may surprise them but only women can get funded for that. Women only like softball and field hockey.

Why can’t supposed “Christians” openly ask themselves a simple question - would Christ agree to murder any infant in the womb if there was no cause to it such as saving the life of the mother. My own belief is that if one says yes Christ would agree to kill an infant in the womb when no life-saving cause existed to do so, is not really a Christian.

“The Methodist church went to the dark side decades ago.”

My wife’s mother, a life long Methodist, died and had requested her funeral be held in a mortuary service room, in another town. The local Babist minister conducted the funeral service. This was a little over 2 decades ago.

She had dropped out of local Methodist church due to the un married couple as she noted, “Pretending to be ministers!”, with no time for the senior members, and those who were sick.

Over a hundred people attended her funeral service and most came after, to her Methodist church for coffee/pastries. One of her relatives started the “Leave this Methodist Church!, at that time.

A year later. They closed the door as a church and became a Historical site.

“”Young Democratic Socialists of America””

Most of the public doesn’t recognize or realize that’s where all the protests come from.. They’re organized and determined with zero intelligence followers/devotees!

The UMC women’s lobby actively promotes abortion. One of many reasons the denomination has lost 2500 churches in the last year as traditionalists (read, “biblical Christians”) go elsewhere by entire congregations.

Wesleyan University, a prominent and supposedly Christian school ...

... has strayed from its Christian roots in recent years ..."

Wesleyan University hasn't been a Christian school for a long time. In the early part of the 20th Century, it sold its heritage, agreeing to muzzle its religious aspect in exchange for a large grant from Andrew Carnegie.

"[Carnegie] began his philanthropy in his 30s, first endowing his native town, and eventually establishing seven philanthropic and educational corporations. ... By the time of his death he had given away more than $350 million."

"Carnegie rejected Christianity and sectarianism and was delighted to replace those views with evolution"

On May 25, 2008, anti-American activist Barack Obama gave a campaign speech at Wesleyan University in the form of a commencement address.

Wesleyan is today as nihilist as any institution of "higher education."

Wesleyan University is a private Methodist Episcopal university

Wesleyan University became independent of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1937. The Methodist Episcopal Church became the Methodist Church when it merged with two other Methodist denominations in 1939. This, in turn, became the United Methodist Church when it merged with another denomination in 1968.

I was raised Methodist and my uncle represented the EUB denomination when they merged with the Methodist Church in 1968. I left the Methodist church in 1986. The liberal minister preached socialism in every sermon.

I was raised Baptist but dated the Methodist preacher’s daughter. He told me that what he did was a social service and that he didn’t believe in God.
I sort of figured it out on my own because he rarely read from the bible. And he told dirty jokes at the dinner table.
This would have been in the mid 80s.
