Denver, Colo., May 5, 2023 / 10:25 am Federal government regulators backed off their demands that a Catholic hospital extinguish its chapel candle after the Oklahoma hospital’s lawyers argued that their client’s religious freedom was being violated.
The hospital was informed that it will receive a waiver, provided it posts signs warning about keeping oxygen equipment away from the tabernacle candle, which is already enclosed and on a wall six feet off the ground.
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had ordered Saint Francis Health System in Oklahoma to snuff out one of its hospital’s sanctuary candles after one of its contractors responsible for accrediting hospitals deemed that it represented a fire hazard. The hospital group was informed that it would lose its accreditation if it failed to comply.
“The government has seen the light and has abandoned its attempt to force an Oklahoma hospital to blow out a small candle or stop serving elderly, disabled, and low-income patients,” Lori Windham, vice president and senior counsel at the Becket religious liberty legal group, said May 5 on Twitter.

“Company, Retreat!”
(at least for now)
Lori is woefully ignorant of how government works. They will take a tiny half step backward while figuring out how to squash you like a bug.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

Instead post a sign outside the chapel that says FedMob Employees and Other Minions of Satan Not Allowed Inside.
When the people fear government there is tyranny. When government fears the people there is freedom. The problem we have now is government has zero fear of the people.
Mighty friggin white of them.
Make all the government officials involved write out the text of the First Amendment 100 times in perfect cursive. Have a nun smack them with a ruler if they misspell a word.
Still on the to-do list: Destroy anything that commands loyalty other than the state.
Say no to peaceful coexistence!
100% agree!
