Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Luke 4
Jesus Rejected at Nazareth
14 Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside. 15 He was teaching in their synagogues, and everyone praised him.
16 He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, 17 and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”[f]
20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
22 All spoke well of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his lips. “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?” they asked.
23 Jesus said to them, “Surely you will quote this proverb to me: ‘Physician, heal yourself!’ And you will tell me, ‘Do here in your hometown what we have heard that you did in Capernaum.’”
24 “Truly I tell you,” he continued, “no prophet is accepted in his hometown. 25 I assure you that there were many widows in Israel in Elijah’s time, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and there was a severe famine throughout the land. 26 Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow in Zarephath in the region of Sidon. 27 And there were many in Israel with leprosy[g] in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed—only Naaman the Syrian.”
28 All the people in the synagogue were furious when they heard this. 29 They got up, drove him out of the town, and took him to the brow of the hill on which the town was built, in order to throw him off the cliff. 30 But he walked right through the crowd and went on his way.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father In Heaven,
Hallowed be Your Most Holy and Wonderful Name!
For Your Alone Are Worthy of Our Devotion,
For You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are the True God of The Universe!
The Earth is Yours
And The Fullness thereof
You Control the Wind and The Rain
You Create a Lovely Spring Day
Or a Mighty Tempest.
Where can we run?
For When I Go to sleep at night, You are with me.
When I awake in the morning, You Are There.
You know my going out and my coming in.
You count every hair of my head,
And You keep all my tears in a bottle as a remembrance.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

Anyone who has ever tried Multi-Level-Marketing knows that the Inner Circle of Family and Friends is almost immediately exhausted. This became a real problem in the days before Internet Sales and Amazon. Soon, everybody in the immediate family had enough Amway and Avon till last until Doomsday. People would still come to the parties, eat the food, play the games, and socialize, but they wouldn't buy any products. I can't even speculate how many "Free Facials" I presided over without selling a single tube of eyeliner. And so, the next level of marketing would be the church. But...everybody else in church was also "starting her own business", and pretty soon, a wise pastor would have to put a stop to the solicitations on church property.
The next step was the workplace, and, many times I would return to my desk after lunch and find a catalog in my in-box for make-up, or cleaning products, or vitamins. Since I had been in the same boat more than once, I would feel obligated to buy ONE product, usually the cheapest one in the catalog, that I didn't really need, as I was still trying to use up all the leftover inventory that I had never sold in my own ventures. The only way to sell a product, or an invention, or books and music, is to go BEYOND that Inner Circle, and reach out to the World. If your product or idea is a good one, it will flourish. If not, reliance upon Family and Friends is NOT going to grow your business, but will only diminish it as your tiny market becomes saturated.
Jesus did not start His Ministry in His hometown. After being tried in the desert, Jesus went to Capernaum and other Galilee Villages to teach and heal. He even reached out to the hated Samaritans and Gentiles (see John 4). Since these people had no idea that Jesus was a carpenter from Nazareth, they were more likely to listen to His message.
Even though Jesus was "on tour", He went home to visit with His family from time to time. During these visits, He would take His place among the people in the Synagogue and do the Reading for the Day as His turn came up.
I can just hear the thoughts of the people:
"Such a nice young man! He reads so well. Too bad he isn't married yet. Did you hear that He did some MIRACLES over in Galilee? Do you think He will do some for US? After all, we remember when He was a little kid, learning how to use his daddy's carpentry tools."
Then Jesus drops a bomb on the whole congregation. Using Scripture, He tells them that God cares about the Gentiles too. He cites the story of Naaman the Syrian who was healed of leprosy, and the Widow who received a miracle from Elijah.
This enrages the people so much that they try to lay hands on Jesus and do Him harm, but He just walks away through the crowd as if they weren't even there.
Just think...if the Townspeople of Nazareth had accepted and embraced Jesus, they would not want Him to leave them. They would have had Him all to themselves and we would never have gotten the Apostles, the Gospels, or even our own Redemption.
Even the rejection of Family and Friends turned out to be a GOOD thing.

Psalm 114
1 When Israel went out from Egypt,
the house of Jacob from a people of strange language,
2 Judah became God’s* sanctuary,
Israel his dominion.
3 The sea looked and fled;
Jordan turned back.
4 The mountains skipped like rams,
the hills like lambs.
5 Why is it, O sea, that you flee?
O Jordan, that you turn back?
6 O mountains, that you skip like rams?
O hills, like lambs?
7 Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord,
at the presence of the God of Jacob,
8 who turns the rock into a pool of water,
the flint into a spring of water.
