I just dont understand how this guy was ever elected pope to begin with, didn’t anyone know his views on things beforehand? He was a well-known Lefty in South America. And it's widely agreed that he campaigned like crazy among liberal cardinals to get himself elected--which is strictly forbidden, and as I recall makes a Papal election invalid.
