What BS, a family of “religious” grifters.
I wouldn’t say Sr. was a “grifter”. The only sin I can tell Jerry indulged in was gluttony. Maybe pride.
Falwell, Sr., most likely was not a grifter according to people I’ve known who attended his church. Junior was another story, but he was not particularly “religious” — just a very flawed attorney managing a college his father founded.
“Just as I am” always closed services for Rev. Falwell Sr. I can never find a full video of a service as seen in the late 70’s although the stuff from Garner Ted is readily available in some cases. Odd that...I think Falwell was the more genuine of the TV pastors, after Rev. Graham.
