Not him, but he came from a neighborhood like that.. Same mentality, lol. The idea of some stone hearted nine-year-old standing there, humiliating you in front of the whole congregation until you cough up, still makes me laugh.
What a hogwash article. No biblical basis at all. In the temple, there were offering boxes/ jars on one side.
Old retired RN, here. I’m not a freak, but I certainly do wipe down shopping cart handles! Read up on germ theory, then watch how people wash their hands, especially men! First thing I do when I get home from shopping, is to wash my hands. Hand to mouth contamination is one of the most frequent ways to contract disease germs/viruses.
I do it for all the congregational singing which is lively and southern-traditional, the service’s prelude, and and postlude. I just never liked doing offertory.

My hand hygiene took a big step up the past three years. I wash my hands first thing when I get home after ANY trip out.
Between NAC, zinc, D3, Quercetin and melatonin plus the religious hand washing, I’ve avoided all colds the past three years. That is very unusual for me as I normally get one or two colds every year and they most often turn into nasty bronchitis.
I guess I’ll have to go to Kroger to get change. ;-D
Cash is filthy, but would never turn it down.
