“ While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God”(Acts 10:44, 46 NKJV). This is speaking of the household of Cornelius.
Think of it: a private Pentecost falling upon an entire household with everybody there lifted into the heavens. It was miraculous! The praises were thrilling as all the relatives and children were getting saved and filled with God’s Holy Spirit. Meanwhile, here we sit in the day of the outpoured Holy Ghost, where we often see little or no evidence of his working and presence. Many of our Christian homes are now under the control of the spirit of the world rather than the Spirit of God.
We need to take back the spiritual authority in our homes. If a Christian husband and wife are not in total unity, flowing together in the Spirit and love of Jesus, there is extreme danger ahead. One or both are not walking in the Spirit. When both are seeking God in private prayer and devotion to God, the Spirit works his wonders. Where the Holy Spirit abides, there is rest, peace, unity, unspeakable joy and victory over the spirit of this world.
God is doing something new in the land right now. The Holy Ghost is separating a people unto the Lord. To God’s people, being successful is not nearly as important as hearing from him. Houses, land, furniture, cars and clothes have lost their charm to a people now passionately in love with the Lord of glory. The Holy Ghost has come to reveal Christ as the Savior of our homes!
I have seen into the spiritual world, and I see demons fleeing. I see powers of darkness trembling because God’s true church, once a slumbering giant, has been provoked by the Holy Ghost to shake itself, rise and claim its place of power and authority.
Entire families, churches and ministries are being turned upside down. God is saying, “Get serious about spiritual things, and I will meet your every need!” The Father is doing great things all around the world, and we can be a partaker of his mighty blessing.
The Return ping
Thank you, Metmom!
Demons still flee at the name of Jesus.
It was all done without the mass ritual.
As a Pentacostal the title caught my eye. Thanks for posting, great link.
I hope and pray, we see a great out pouring in these last days, should the Lord tarry.
Yet there remains a faithful remnant living for His appearing. It could be today, it could be this hour. And if not, we live unto Him another hour, another day. Waiting for that Trumpet.
Regarding the condition of the church today, Given the state of the Laidicean church, it’s good to see posts exposing it.
I have been listening to a lot of Jonathan Cahn’s messages lately. What an encouragement they are. He is big on repentance and revival and letting God be God and not putting Him in a box.
I too am Pentecostal and think of Acts 2 as Pentecostal 101.
I would love to see another Azusa Street revival...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azusa_Street_Revival
Can you imagine being present back then to witness the Outpouring that girdled the globe.
From what I’ve seen, many people want revival and are praying for it to happen, but it’s a group mentality thing. God will pour it out and it’ll happen in a big setting.
What about Christians just praying for revival in their individual lives, whether anyone else joins them or not?
Maybe that’s the way to get real revival started. Start it one on one with God don’t wait for it to “happen” and quit focusing on the manifestations. True revival is going to be a heart change and a lifestyle change, whether or not signs and wonders come along with it.
I wonder if we’re not too focused on the wrong aspect of revival, the outward manifestations and not focused enough on the internal surrender to God and the lives changed to become more Christlike and holy in living.
Great points.
But I still vision what it must have been like during the Azusa street revival. And that began with a Bible study class studying Acts chapter 2.
But for the main point you stated, it does begin with the individual and at home.
And I have a long ways to go. But God’s still workin on me.
Who wouldn’t like to see a book of Acts type of outpouring, but if that is what we want it for, then I seriously doubt that it’s going to happen.
God will not be used.
My maternal Grandparents became Pentecostal around 1915.
They were Romanian Orthodox when they arrived here. One day my Grandfather was standing on a corner flipping a coin when he heard happy music coming from the building across the street.
He went inside and that’s where the story started. Thank God for that music.
He must have shared some really interesting history.
I have his Bible. The cover is worn and the pages are dog-eared. He took copious notes. I miss him so much, but thanks to Christ Jesus, I’ll be with him soon.
You have a treasure there.
I think that reunion will be soon.
