A Scottish friends was telling me about how online comments could get you arrested a few years ago and I could not believe it. Now I can believe most anything, and not just in the UK.
I just cannot believe most people in England are ok with this.
Prayers are powerful.
Can any sane person take them seriously? Outrageous.
Worse thing coming is I saw a demonstration of mind patterning observation in which the technicians put sensors on Dr.Deepak Chopra’s skull and put him in a room. They had him go into his usual deep meditation and back. Could be questioned and his answers noted to compare with images of brain sectors.
Conclusion showed colored patterns of brain areas with types of activity. One is for recalling a true memory of an event. One for lying is the same as “making up a new story or scenario” and others showed Chopra’s relaxed meditative state. So they can “read our minds” and tell if we are happy with the Great Leader’s new policy or we are resisting his plans, and we are lying about being a docile servant of Marxism. Terrible invention.

George Orwell warned us in his book 1984.
Oddly I read 1984 back in the early seventies. I found it very entertaining fiction. Today I realize it was not fiction but a warning.
It is odd that Orwell did not know all mechanisms of media and propaganda that would emerge in our age of technology and mass communication. He nailed it correctly. Orwell did not know technology and communication of our age. He knew exactly and precisely what those in control of such would do with it.
Orwell was a Sage.

Since there is no first amendment free speech protection in the United Kingdom, “speech“ that offends can be, and has been, criminalized. The offense is entirely subjective and is based on the state of the mind or the perception of the party taking offense to the “speech. “
The “reasoning” behind silent prayer being offensive appears to be that the anonymous offended party (or the police officer proactively acting on their behalf) is disturbed because someone might be silently praying that a woman with a crisis pregnancy might decide to not have an abortion and instead seek assistance at a pro-life pregnancy support center.
Now, it also bears remembering that the woman being charged was under a previous order to essentially keep her activities outside of the protective zones established around abortion clinics. Accounts say she was inside the zone. How far? Would silent prayer still be an offense if she was one foot outside? It certainly didn’t matter if the clinic was open or closed.
Of course, this approach to silencing criticism offers wonderful opportunities to denounce all sorts of people to the police for merely being perceived as harboring thoughts that offend one favored group or another. And all they need do is get laws passed establishing little protective bubbles around themselves where offensive speech and even mere contrary thoughts are prohibited.
Here in the States, they’ve already got such zones in effect. They’re called colleges and universities.
What can you expect when only weeks after the attack on the world trade Center POTUS declared that Islam is a religion of peace and military personnel and SC Justices, Senators and Reps responded with generous applause. Why the muzzies bothered destroying the WTC is a mystery to me — they could have walked into the country and demand immediate surrender to Islam. Hell, the first thing it did was elect a muzzie President. Land of the free and home of the brave. Yeah right. Then a long war against Islam while allowing muzzie migration. Historians will snicker and scoff when they write the story of “the greatest nation in the world”.
It lists 5 banned activities. The one that Vaughan-Spruce breached is the one against prayer.
Note that it is not illegal to enter the PSPO, nor to walk or stand within the PSPO.
However the PSPO - written by half-witted or fanatical council officials, not by Parliament - does ban certain kinds of silent thought. Such as prayer.
FReepers will be glad to know that this kind of prior constraint on thought is illegal in the UK: freedom of thought is protected under article 9 of the ECHR)
Midwitted fanatics are seeking to forbid the thoughts in a woman’s head. Her only crime was to think something in the forbidden place.

Think about it..... She’s arrested for praying outside - while they’re in there murdering and dismembering little innocent babies! THAT IS SICK!!
