etabeta, thank you very much! A great article indeed. And we see how vibrant are these colors still, after hundreds of years.
If you don’t mind me asking, are you a painter?
I wish I were a painter! Unfortunately I have zero talent but a great love for art, curiosity and I read a lot. I used to take a painting, enlarge it and lift a detail. By studying the details, I think we understand more of the artist, the times, the culture, their vision. I get enthusiastic when I discover little treasures in a painting.
I am a charter member of that very large club.
etabeta, it’s never to late you know... if we love painting (or playing the Tuba, or learning German) we can learn far beyond what we ever believed was possible.
We all should ‘re-invent’ ourselves every few years =:^)
RE: re-invention of self -
You’re a good example Dan; you may never have known how to create a ministry like this, until you made the effort, over many months, and learned by doing. And look what’s come of it; a wonderful place that glorifies God!
If I tried, I would become even more aware of my limitations...I will admire and bask in the beauty of art gifted to us by great painters.
Teddy Roosevelt’s wonderful quote applies, about a willingness to compete in the arena.
I have learned many techniques, but the main lesson has been to decrease so He may increase.
“I will admire and bask in the beauty of art gifted to us by great painters.”

etabeta, Appreciation is a most positive thing, and becoming more rare in our culture.
“I have learned many techniques, but the main lesson has been to decrease so He may increase.”

Dan, I must endeavor to do the same.
