Five-year Fight To Expose Child Abuse At A "Christian" Boot Camp
In October 2011, a concerned mother called Capt. Charles Kennedy of Prichard, Alabama, concerned about her son enrolled at Restoration Youth Academy, a Christian "Youth Treatment Facility." Shocked at what he discovered, Kennedy launched a 5-year struggle to expose abuse and torture suffered by students at the hands of instructors.
Even after retiring, Kennedy campaigned for criminal charges and closure of Restoration Youth Academy, and the arrest of its owner and instructor William Knott. He appealed to the local Mobile County District Attorney, the Alabama Department of Human Resources, the Alabama Attorney General's office and the Governor. Still, the school was allowed to remain open until 2015.

It's a BOOT camp, for goodness' sake! Doesn't that name sort of imply that it's gonna be tough? Jumping out of your bunk at 5:00 a.m. while the "Boot" beats a garbage can with his swagger stick, standing at attention in your undies while the "Boot" gets in your face and cusses you out, divine services at 6:00 a.m.?

I somehow don’t suspect our military did their training stark naked.

Pritcherd is an almost completely black town and it has been notorious for a century for being a wasteland of crime, depravity, and violence. Is this a black school?
The three that were sent to the big house for 20 years, Pastor John Young, Aleshia Moffett and William Knott were black. However a lot of the kids were from all over the United States and sent there by transport companies by their parents. Some kids were black, white or hispanic.
My cousin sent his oldest to a place like this. Sounds cruel, but it was a last resort. He was completely out of control and would probably be dead of an OD or suicide by now. Probably doesn’t always work but it was able to bring my cousins boy back.

NO and three workers including two founders are doing 20 years in prison. One is a “Pastor”, John Young.
