Is the Pope Catholic?
The RC church is a worldly power, using what its religion to cause change in nations.
Yes.
This is just to get people to stop talking about what Elon Musk is exposing at twitter.
Ignoring the real risks to the body and soul of these migrants is a shame.
They couldn’t care less if the pews are filled. They get billions from the federal government for these actions.
Perhaps you could inform us how the Feds send $Billions to the Catholic Church?
Through federal grants given to various official Catholic organizations. Ostensibly to aid in the resettlement and welfare of the illegals.
Wouldn’t be surprised. A lot of the leftist crap reigning in SAmerica dabbled in kiddies. That is how the present Pope showed his true pedo colors when he defended a pedo-convicted priest of ...... what he was convicted of.
Should have been Catholic Charities!
The proof of this is that no Dems shout about "separation of Church and State" when this arm is doing their bidding.
I frustrate them by only donating specifically to the Catholic Crisis Pregnancy Centers within the Catholic Charities org. AND they are kind enough to inform me exactly what the money is used for.
Mom alerted me to this abuse within Catholic Charities 40 years ago.
“Is the USCCB is a religious organization whose mission is the salvation of souls or is it simply a non-governmental organization (NGO) at the beck and call of political operatives?”
If you have to ask that question we already know the answer.
That theory of the Bishops' policies and politics is from another time. You are right that they are hypocrites. But look at the data in your story: The US Bishops no longer make their living from donations from the pews. Hence their policy inspiration no longer derives from that. (If it did, the USCCB would function as a conservative organization.)
For decades, the US Bishops as a corporate body have built their policies, especially with regard to the poor, not around the souls of the poor, but aiming at the millions of dollars that Federal and state entities are willing to throw at them in exchange for supporting Leftist Democratic revolutionaries in our government and corporate world.
The members and functionaries of the USCCB, if they chose, could multiply attendance in the pews easily by making sure Catholic teaching is being taught and fostered at Catholic churches and in Catholic schools and colleges. But the USCCB is a creature that thrives in the Swamp (only). It promotes socialism and Leftist politics wherever it goes.
A movement promoting traditional moral and theological teaching began after WWII and has grown rapidly since the 1970s with the Pro-Life movement. These trends are driven almost entirely by priests and laymen. They have been filling the pews for decades and inspiring religious vocations, marriages, and lots of babies. The growth of the Traditional Latin Mass has also been steep and far-reaching, especially among the young. They vote conservative.
The bishops as a corporate organization fight these trends, because the USCCB is a Washington Swamp Creature. Sometimes things look complicated on the outside, but they're simple. The good news is that the new vocations to the priesthood are almost all conservative and faithful, like the young Catholics having babies.
Maybe the U.S. Bishop's role is to move the S&M rapists and killers around so no on notices. Like in the old days. Or worse - to pretend 'Catholic Charities' hasn't sold out to the Cartels.

I confess to oversimplifying things.
Which Catholic media do you access to inform your insight?
(I'm an AB Vigano fan myself)
YES. Catholic Charities are massive human traffickers makin huge profits from tax payers.
Faves include:
Crisis Magazine (https://www.crisismagazine.com/)
The Catholic Thing (https://www.thecatholicthing.org/)
And The National Catholic Register (https://www.ncregister.com/), which is reliable. We get it on paper at home.
One of my few possible boasts in life is that my wife and I met and got to speak with Abp. Schneider at a talk on one of his books. Another is that we and a couple of our kids took a picture with Cardinal Burke at our parish.
Hey, and before I was even Catholic . . . I threw out several "gay" disrupters from a talk in NYC by then-Cardinal Ratzinger--handing them off, one by one, to the awesome NYPD.
(The Irish say it's not boasting if you done it.)
