Would that everyone would emulate her in determinedly reaching for that which is freely given.
They will encounter that same firm warm lifting hand.
HoHoHo!
Thank you for such beauty this morning, Dan!
It is such a heartwarming story, Claire.
“It is such a heartwarming story, Claire.”
You’re right, Dan. It’s especially important to those who’ve suffered for long periods of time.
We no longer have to touch the hem, we just Him.
Wow
This story has been treated so beautifully by so many artists
I think this is my favorite gallery showing for the year
thank you for this beautiful presentation
Well, so glad you found it exemplary. It’s a deeply personal subject which many artists treated as worthy of such intimate focus on her that, as you noted, we really haven’t seen before.
it is an extraordinary presentation
of theological study
or even if it were a secular discussion, art critique only,
the quality of art and range of approaches is Top Notch
In the last few days of Jesus’ miracles artwork, His love and mercy cannot be denied. Our God is an awesome God!
Our God is an awesome God!
What a difficult scene to depict on canvas — so much going on. Others are touching, jostling Jesus and the disciples. Surely she’s not the only one who reached for his cloak, yet she is the one Jesus responded to and healed — for her faith.
He could have just healed her without comment. Who knows how often that happened (John 21:25). Here he purposefully made a public display of her act of faith amidst a crowd, as Tissot portrays. Thus my vote for no. 1!
Well-reasoned and -argued, nicollo.
We can presume with a very high confidence, I think, that she will be with us in heaven. Therefore, we shall be privileged to ask her all about this famous incident.
But I contend that all of us have numerous such stories to tell, and in heaven we shall spend “eons” telling them to others who are fascinated to hear them. And God will be praised o’er and o’er.
Would that I had her faith.
Trying.
