The Lord Is Our Great Healer

To God you will never be more healed than you are right now. How can you be anymore healed than "were healed." 1 Peter 2:24 says, you were healed by the stripes of Jesus. The issue is how do you view healing. Now, please understand there's more to healing than when all the symptoms are gone and everything has physically stopped. There's another side that God includes He includes the spiritual side. Remember, Abraham in Genesis 17:4,5 when God told him that He had made him a father of many nations when in fact Romans 4:19 says that his body was dead(physical side) and his wife's womb was dead. You can't be a father of many nations with a dead body so God was not talking about something that was done physically. The problem is man looks at his flesh to determine if 1 Peter 2:24 is true, but that's not what God looks at God looks at Jesus and what he did. The thing is what did he do, because once you know what he did then you can look at that and let that determine if 1 Peter 2:24 is true and not how you may feel or look. 2 Corinthians 5:7 says, that we walk by faith and not by sight. Isaiah 53:1 says, who shall believe our report, see if you don't know what was done how can you believe it. Isaiah 53:4,5 says, Surely he hath borne our griefs(sicknesses and diseases), and carried our sorrows (pains and afflictions): yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

God is showing the spiritual side of healing, the work that Jesus would do in the spiritual. And what Jesus has done in the spiritual you can receive it physically, that's when it shows up in your body. Notice, when Abraham's body and his wife's womb became alive physically was not when God did it, that's when they received physically what had already been done spiritually. It has to be reality in the spiritual before it can be reality in the physical. And when something is reality in the spiritual it can be manifested or received physically by faith. For example when Jesus healed the 10 lepers, they cried to him to have mercy on them and he said to them, "Go shew yourselves unto the priest." Well, the practice in those days was you didn't show yourself to the priest until after you have evidence of being healed, so what was Jesus doing. He was calling them cleansed/healed, he was making it a spiritual reality first/he released the healing in the spiritual first. And as they went they received physically what was done spiritually by faith. Because Jesus told the one that came back to give thanks, your faith has made you whole. Notice, it was up to them to receive what Jesus did in the spiritual they could have stood there and waited to see something or feel something, but they believed his word. And that's what we have to do.

The key to believing God's word is knowing what was done by Jesus and to see that you have to go back to the beginning. When Adam disobeyed God he introduced sin into the earth and with sin came sickness they are connected. So, the root of all sickness is spiritual. Sickness is a physical manifestation of something spiritual. And like sin and sickness is connected so is forgiveness and healing connected. Notice, in Psalm 103:3 it says Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases. And in Mark 2 when they brought the man sick of the palsy to Jesus to be healed watch what Jesus said, Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk? 10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,) 11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. 12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all. Notice, to prove he had the power to forgive he healed. So forgiveness and healing is connected like sin and sickness is connected. Now, what Jesus did is deal with sickness at the root. How? John 1:29 says, Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. And just as sickness came with sin then it also had to go with sin because they are connected. 1 Peter 2:24 says, He bore our sins in his own body on the tree and by doing so Isaiah 53:4 says, Surely he hath borne our griefs(sicknesses and diseases) and carried our sorrows(pains and afflictions). See, they are connected. And by him bearing our sicknesses and diseases God sees you free. So, when God calls you healed He is not looking at you physically, He is looking at what Jesus has already done for you, in the spirit. As we started out with healing has a physical and spiritual side. God looks at the spiritual, but a lot of times man only looks at the physical. You need to have a full picture and not just part of the picture.

When you understand how the spiritual influences the physical then you are able to operate more than just naturally. Operating spiritually is a higher way of living. The spiritual and the physical interacts. Like man he is both spirit and flesh/physical and they work together. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 4:16 that there is an outward man/flesh and an inward man/spirit. And if you are going to follow God then the spirit man is going to have be in charge. That's why it says, "For we walk by faith and not by sight". You can't walk by faith out of your flesh, never. Faith is of the spirit and God wants you out of the flesh and in the spirit. Because, without faith it is impossible to please him. And what happens is because it's not in manifestation people think nothing has been done. But, notice even though God did something spiritually for Abraham it had no effect physically. Because when God said that He made Abraham a father of many nations Abraham's body was dead. That's why you can't go by your flesh. Notice, Romans 4:19 says Abraham considered not the deadness of his body neither the deadness of Sarah's womb. He's not walking according to the flesh. That's what 2 Cor 4:17,18 talks about For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

All healing is rooted in the spiritual, it's spiritual at the roots. No matter how it's obtained it's rooted in the spiritual. You can have an operation, they can give you some medication, but even that's rooted in the spiritual because where did those instruments come from, where did the ingredients of that medication come from. Without the spiritual there wouldn't be anything here. So, all that can be tracked back to the spiritual. All sickness is spiritual at it's roots if there was no sin there would be no sickness. And sin is a spiritual issue. So, both healing and sickness is rooted in the spiritual, is spiritual at the roots. They both come out of the spiritual. All physical things originate from the spiritual (Heb. 11:3). Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Which means the physical/material world is a manifestion of the spiritual world. So, what happens in the physical is dependent on what happens in the spiritual. Now, God told Abraham he made him a father of many nations while his body was dead and told his wife Sarah she would have a son when her womb was dead and she was past child bearing years. All that God told them was reality in the spiritual. Now, they are going to have to receive that by faith. So, what did God do He changed their names from Abram-High father to Abraham-Father of a multitude and from Sarai-My Princess to Sarah- Princess of nations.

Why did He do that because at first they did not believe, in fact when Sarah heard it she laughed but faith comes by hearing. So, while they were hearing themselves calling themselves and each other according to their new names which had the same meaning as what God promised them faith came, but faith has to do more than just come it also has to be released. And the main way you release your faith is by your words. 2 Corinthians 4:13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak. And when that happens Luke 6:45 happens A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. The things in the spirit faith is the substance of them, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. And when you release the substance of them then you receive them. So, once faith came they started releasing it. And when they released it they received it. That's why God makes things reality in the spirit first for you to receive when you need. How, by faith.

One more example Mary- Notice, it was already spoken, "A virgin shall conceive and bare a son". That was reality in the spirit, naturally speaking a virgin can't have a son. When that angel showed up and gave her that same word she said, "Be it unto me according to thy word." What did she do when she said that she released her faith (the substance of the thing). How do I know that verse 45, her cousin Elizabeth told us- And blessed is she who believed that there shall be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from The Lord. And what happened John 1:14 and the word was made flesh and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth. 1John 1:1,2 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; 2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;). Notice, that which was from the beginning, we heard, we saw, we handled with our hands. What was from the beginning, the word. In the beginning was the word and John 6:63 says, the word is spirit. So, he was spirit first before he was manifested in the flesh. Legally, spiritual is not permitted to crossover into the physical without man. God gave man the dominion/authority.

That's why Amos 3:7 says, Surely the Lord God will do nothing, unless He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets. Why? Because someone has to speak it. God gave man(spirit man/the inward man) the authority and it's used by his words. Abraham, Sarah, Mary notice they all had to say something. But, in their saying there had to be a release of their faith. By faith Jesus was birthed out of her spirit by way of her mouth before he was birthed out of her womb. Spirit brings forth out of the mouth (Luke 6:45) flesh brings forth out of the womb. So, when I call myself healed when everything looks contrary I'm not looking at my flesh. I'm not looking at the thing that's seen, I'm looking at the thing not seen. I'm releasing my faith for that word to become flesh. And when that word is made flesh then the sickness will go. That's what the scripture says: 1 Corinthians 1:26-28 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not(manifested), to bring to nought things that are(manifested). When God's healing comes on the scene then the sickness will have to go. But, the problem is people don't believe in the healing because they figure, "If I'm healed why do I still have the condition.

Here's what The Holy Spirit showed me:

It's like being in an accident you might not have any pain that day or the next few days or weeks. But, one morning you might try to get out of bed and can't because of the pain. Notice, when the pain manifested was not when the event happened that caused it. The event that caused it was weeks ago, but just because it didn't manifest at the time of the event doesn't mean nothing happened. So, likewise just because the healing is not in manifestation does not mean nothing has been done about your condition. And because the healing is not in manifestation people think they are waiting on the event of healing, but they are not waiting on the event of healing (God told us that has already occurred) what they are waiting on is the manifestation of healing, there's a big difference. Anything you are going to receive from God has to be by faith. And Hebrews 11:1 says, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Notice, it's the substance of things hoped for, so you can't have faith for what does not exist. Because, if the thing does not exist how can you have the substance of it. You can only have the substance of a thing that exists. It also says, faith is the evidence of things not seen. Well, evidence is of something that has already happened. Evidence does not deal with the future it deals with the past. And third it says, faith is the substance and evidence of things; you can't call something a thing if it does not exist. Just look at man he is spirit and flesh. And yet what you can't see or touch(spirit man) is just as real if not more real than what you can see and touch(flesh man). So, the way God sees it your healing is just as real now as when it shows up in your body. And that's how we need to see it.

Ok, what about physical injuries? A broken bone? A ruptured disc?

These are not illness or sickness, but results of a physical injury.

Does not the Lord also heal these? Of course He does.

But our position is different. They are not included in His finished work.

We can only ask.

IMHO.............

Arlis, healing is a provision of God and is included in his finished work. And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.

30 And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:

31 Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.

The maimed are people with missing limbs and he healed them. The healing Jesus did is included in his finished works. Because, any healing you receive by faith is already a finished work. Thank you for taking the time to read this article.

I’ve taught for over 50 years that healing is in the atonement, but not that it included injuries.

I know He healed ALL who came to Him when here, and He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

And I know He healed the maim - but I am not sure that it can be proven that these healings are in the atonement.

I have been healed miraculously a number of times, the “biggest” one from sarcoma cancer all through my chest and ribs. Gone. He removed it.

I have seen people healed.

But sometimes I think healings not due to sin or sickness are in a sense beyond the atonement - pure grace. And He is certainly pleased to do those sometimes - but not always.

Thank you for your thoughts. The Lord bless you.
