Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time
Luke 12:54–59
,br> Friends, the famous call of the Vatican II fathers to “read the signs of the times”
is grounded in Jesus’ exhortation in the Gospel for today.
Followers of Jesus are meant to look at the world with clear eyes,
to see what is happening, to be attentive.
But this attention is of a particular type.
It is not the attention of the scientist or the philosopher or the politician—
though it can include those.
It is an attention to the things of God.
I have often argued that many of us today are still enthralled to a deist view of God,
whereby God is a distant and aloof first cause of the universe,
uninvolved with the world he has made.
But Thomas Aquinas taught that God is in all things
“by essence, presence, and power,”
and that God providentially cares for every aspect of his creation.
Therefore, we should expect to see signs of his presence and activity in nature,
in history, and in human affairs.
And once we see, we are meant to speak!
In a way, followers of Jesus are not looking at the signs of the times for their own benefit,
but rather that they might share their prophetic perspective with everyone else.
So look around, look with attention,
look with the eyes of faith!

Jesus said to the crowds,
“When you see a cloud rising in the west
you say immediately that it is going to rain–and so it does;
and when you notice that the wind is blowing from the south
you say that it is going to be hot–and so it is.
You hypocrites!
You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky;
why do you not know how to interpret the present time?“Why do you not judge for yourselves what is right?
If you are to go with your opponent before a magistrate,
make an effort to settle the matter on the way;
otherwise your opponent will turn you over to the judge,
and the judge hand you over to the constable,
and the constable throw you into prison.
I say to you, you will not be released
until you have paid the last penny.”

When asked what tangible action he (Boobie) was taking to combat the Cancel Culture mob that has been publicly targeting the Catholic Church — and its statues — Barron, dipping into his Spirit of Vatican II playbook, replied, “That’s the laity’s job!” Bishop Barron has since doubled down on his fiery words — that the toppling of public Catholic statues is solely for the laity to resist. So much for accompaniment. Just don’t touch the Pachamama carvings. Defending Saints Is for the Laity, Defending Sinners for the Bishops

Always responding with ad hominems instead of addressing the facts, Murph.
Boobie is a homosexualist heretic who, like you, denies the dogma, "extra Ecclesiam nulla salus".
Boobie even wrote a preface for his fellow homosexualist, James Martin, S.J.'s book, "Learning to Pray: A Guide for Everyone".
The Troubling Kinship of Bishop Barron and Father Martin
On October 30, Father Martin announced the upcoming publication of his latest book, Learning to Pray: A Guide for Everyone. It had endorsements from just whom you’d expect: Cardinal Cupich, Richard Rohr, and Helen Prejean—heroes of the Catholic Left. However, it was also endorsed by none other than Bishop Barron, who wrote that “Father Martin is a winsome guide to all those who want to deepen their friendship with the Lord.” Bishop Barron’s endorsement sent shockwaves through conservative American Catholicism. After all, aren’t Bishop Barron and Father Martin supposed to be on opposing sides of the battle for the soul of the Church? What’s going on here?

“schismo”
“sede”
“heretically”
“schism”
“Luther”
Is that all you’ve got, Murph? Or do you have more ad hominems to offer?
Why don’t you address my posts about Boobie instead of the personal attacks?
Do you agree with Boobie that the Supreme Court should not reverse its decision on legalizing homo marriage?
Yes or No.

You hypocrite!
You know how to interpret the
appearance of the earth and the sky;
why do you not know how to interpret
the present time?
Shame on you, You sin against the Holy Spirit in your schismatic evil...
You're in way worse shape the your Pride allows you to know...
Your just clueless, and aloof to Christianity...
CS Lewis had you in mind when he wrote:
If anyone thinks that Christians regard unchastity as the supreme vice,
he is quite wrong.
The sins of the flesh are bad, but they are the least bad of all sins.
All the worst pleasures are purely spiritual:
the pleasure of putting other people in the wrong, of bossing and patronising and spoiling sport, and backbiting; the pleasures of power, of hatred.
For there are two things inside me, competing with the human self which I must try to become.
They are the Animal self, and the Diabolical self.
The Diabolical self is the worse of the two.
That is why a cold, self-righteous prig who goes regularly to church
may be far nearer to hell than a prostitute.[Or homosexual-My edit].
But, of course, it is better to be neither.

More ad hominems and personal attacks.
You do not address the problems with Boobie.
Barron and Bergoglio are both hypocrites and heretics.
And all you respond with is personal attacks.

You haven't answered a simple question, Murph.
Will you respond with another personal attack?

Lol... you're all about the 8th commandment... please..
You're deal is you must be repressing some unnatural feelings... and so you attack others...
You haven't answered a simple question,
And why would I?
You answer nothing about your heretical schismatic deception I have asked over the years...
Please... your so transparent in your hate....
Why would I validate such an erroneous voice then ?...
The Pope said the Church cannot bless sin. period.
You must have missed that.
As far as the secular world misusing and trying to hijack the term "marriage" so be it.
Let them gage it- it is not if God.
If that's what the people voted for that's what they get.
At the Altar of God- it is something different altogether.
Two DIFFERENT things.
STOP conflating that for your own deception.

I'm neither a sedevacantist nor a schismatic.
Yet you knowingly continue with the slanderous ad hominems.
Whenever I criticize Boobie or VC II, you immediately respond with personal attacks.
Very juvenile.
